Support for Terrorists
On April 17, 2017, Sulaiman updated his Facebook cover photo to a banner that said: “APRIL 17 DAY OF ACTION Freedom for Palestinian Prisoners End Security COORDINATION.”The banner originated from an April 17, 2017 event titled: “Boston: Protest PA [Palestinian Authority] Security Coordination w/ Israeli Occupation.”
The event’s Facebook details said: “As part of the global Palestinian-led day of action to mark Palestinian Prisoners Day and 40 day memorial of Basel Al-Araj’s murder, an assembly will be held in front of the Park Street MBTA Station in Boston on April 17th to demand an immediate end to the Palestinian Authority's security coordination with Israel. “
Basel Al Araj was killed in a shoot-out with Israeli troops during an arrest raid. He had been suspected of belonging to a terror cell planning to carry out attacks on Israeli targets. Two M-16 assault rifles and an improvised Carlo-style submachine gun were found inside his home.
On October 6, 2015, in an interview with the anti-Israel Electronic Intifada (EI), Sulaiman said [00:07:37]: “Recently in the Chicago and midwest area there’s been a lot ofactivism, SJP activism and advocacy for Rasmea Odeh and the trial she has been going through which can only be called [00:07:52] political repression.”
Odeh was a military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), an internationally designated terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a bombing that killed two university students in a Jerusalem supermarket. Odeh also attempted to bomb the British consulate.
Odeh confessed, in a highly detailed account, the day following her arrest. In a 2004 documentary, one of Odeh’s co-conspirators directly implicated her as the mastermind.
In 1970, an Israeli court tried and convicted Odeh for her involvement in both bombings and sentenced her to life imprisonment. However, Odeh was released 10 years later, in a prisoner swap and emigrated to the United States. In 2017, Odeh was deported to Jordan and stripped of U.S. citizenship, after admitting to immigration fraud.
On August 8, 2015, Sulaiman retweeted a tweet that said: “Israel plans to force-feed hunger-striking Palestinian prisoner http://bit.ly/1gTnP9Y. “
The tweet linked to an article about Mohammad Allan who was on a hunger strike to protest his administrative detention.
Allan is a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a terror group “whose objective is the destruction of the State of Israel and the establishment of a sovereign, Islamic Palestinian state.” Allan was first jailed by Israel in 2006 for trying to recruit a suicide bomber to carry out an attack in Israel. He was detained in 2014 for similar reasons. PIJ is backed by Iran and has killed dozens of Israelis in suicide bombings and other attacks.
On March 18, 2013, Sulaiman retweeted a tweet in support of Samer Issawi, who was then on hunger strike, that said: #IssawiMustLive #IssawiMustLive #IssawiMustLive #IssawiMustLive #IssawiMustLive #IssawiMustLive.”
Samer Issawi is a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) who received a 26-year prison sentence in 2002. During the second intifada, Issawi manufactured and distributed pipe bombs and fired indiscriminately on Israeli civilian vehicles. In December 2013, Issawi called for the kidnapping of Israelis, saying: “The [Palestinian] prisoners' release will be brought about by kidnapping and [prisoner] exchanges. Nothing will happen without that.”
On March 16, 2013, Sulaiman retweeted a tweet that said: “We won't back down! #Issawi4Freedom.”

Tomorrow, we take another step towards return. This our history. This is our future. Nothing will stop us from freedom in #Jerusalem #JerusalemEmbassy.”Sulaiman’s tweet was in response tothe 2017 decision by the U.S. government to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the decision to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Spreading Hatred of Israel
On May 15, 2014, Sulaiman retweeted a tweet that said: “Interactive Nakba Map by @Zochrot: http://bit.ly/1nPOm6f#NakbaDay.”The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. His Facebook post linked to an article by SJP UCLA, titled: “Why Readers Interested in a Balanced Coverage of Student BDS Initiatives Should Avoid the New York Times”
Sulaiman indicated on Facebook that he “went” to an event on May 6, 2015, titled: “BDS@10: What next for the Global Struggle for Palestinian Rights?” featuring BDS co-founder Omar Barghouti and Rebecca Vilkomerson, the executive director of Jewish Voice Peace (JVP).
The event’s Facebook description said: “Ten years ago, Palestinian civil society issued a call for a campaign of boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel, to last until it complies with international law and Palestinian rights. In that time a global movement has rapidly emerged against Israeli Apartheid, and corporations and campuses across the world have yielded to demands to divest.”

The hashtag #AAA2015 refers to the American Anthropological Association’s (AAA) resolution to boycott Israel, which passed on November 20, 2015, by a vote of 1,040 to 136.
The resolution, circulated and published in 2014, accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing, colonization, discrimination, and military occupation” and called upon the AAA to boycott Israeli academic institutions.
The resolution charged that “Israel has obstructed Palestinians’ right to education by destroying Palestinian universities and schools in military strikes” and that “the Israeli state and universities systematically deny Palestinian students in Israeli educational institutions rights and resources equal to their Jewish Israeli counterparts.”
On June 17, 2016, Sulaiman retweeted a tweet from the BDS movement that said: “Viet Thanh Nguyen, 2016 Pulitzer Prize winner, endorses academic and cultural boycott of Israel http://bit.ly/1PyKPW7#BDS #Palestine.”
