Parisa Ayoubi

Overview

Parisa Ayoubi has justified violence, expressed support for terrorism, glorified terrorists and spread hatred of America. She has also promoted incitement, expressed hatred of Zionists, and demonized Israel and Zionism.

Ayoubi has endorsed anti-Israel agitators and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In 2021, Ayoubi expressed solidarity with Yasmeen Mashayekh, a graduate student at the University of Southern California (USC) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Senator who tweeted her desire to “kill every motherf**king Zionist.”

As of December 2021, Ayoubi’s LinkedIn page said she was a Laboratory Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Santa Clara, California, since October 2021 and worked as a Hotline Volunteer at Cross Cultural Expressions, Community Counseling Center in Sherman Oaks, California, since October 2021.

Ayoubi’s LinkedIn also said she graduated from Santa Clara University (SCU) with a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biological Science in 2020 and was located in San Francisco, California.

As of December 2021, Ayoubi used the handle “parisavayoubi” and the screen name “#savesheikhjarrah 𓆃 پری” on Twitter.

As of the same date, Ayoubi used the handle “champagnepari” on Instagram and ran the Instagram account “frommaghrebtomashriq.”

Justifying Violence

Ayoubi retweeted an August 30, 2021 tweet that read: “Zionists crying over their dead a** sniper guy y’all should be embarrassed he was fortified n died thru the only little hole he had to avoid. See what I mean the idf [Israel Defense Forces] aren’t trained to fight resistance they’re only hired to oppress helpless ppl [people] n once those ppl [people] stand up, they fall.”

The tweet referred to the murder of Barel Hadaria Shmueli.

On August 21, 2021, a Palestinian gunman shot Israeli Border Police Staff Sergeant Barel Hadaria Shmueli at point-blank range in the head. He died of his wounds nine days later. Shmueli was attempting to contain Hamas-led violent riots along the northern section of the border fence between Israel and Gaza.

During Israel’s “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW)” against Hamas in Gaza, Ayoubi retweeted a May 14, 2021 tweet by Canada-based Dahlia Attoui that read: “We ask everyone to stop filming/sharing footage of the firing of rockets towards the Zionist state because it will negatively affect our resistance. Not sharing will stop ‘israel’s’ ability to pinpoint where the rockets are being fired from. We are all responsible.”

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

On May 10, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “resistance to ethnic cleansing isn’t terrorism ya gazma [you stupid].”

Ayoubi was responding to a tweet by American businessman Andrew Yang that read: “I'm standing with the people of Israel who are coming under bombardment attacks, and condemn the Hamas terrorists. The people of NYC [New York City] will always stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel who face down terrorism and persevere.”

On April 29, 2021, Ayoubi wrote on Instagram: “unpopular opinion but sometimes (a lot of the times), violence IS the answer.😌 don’t let your oppressors fool you into blindly accepting non-violence, it’s state propaganda.”

Ayoubi’s post featured a photo of Leila Khaled holding an AK-47 assault rifle with a caption that read: “a brief history of ak-47s as weapons of liberation.”

The AK47  is referred to by some as “the terrorist’s weapon of choice.”

The post featured other graphics promoting armed resistance and the AK-47.

Support for Terrorism

On November 19, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “on the surface level it’s satisfying asf [as f**k] when ir [Iran] says ‘f**k y’all’ to the west and funds hezbollah and hamas, sends supplies to lebanon, etc. but it’s doing all of this extra s**t to bolster resistance to western influence and neoimperialism w/o [without] giving a f**k about its own.”

Hezbollah has long been known as an anti-Semitic and genocidal terror organization dedicated to destroying Israel.

Hamas's founding charter calls for the murder of Jews, while the terror group’s “summer camps” have taught children how to wage war.

GlorifyingTerrorists

On September 20, 2020, Ayoubi tweeted: “frantz fanon, assata shakur, and leila khaled atm [at the moment] <333.”

Ayoubi was responding to a tweet that read: “who’s ur favorite revolutionary i want to know.”

Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

Ayoubi retweeted a May 14, 2021 tweet by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) activist Anwaar Saadeh that read: “‘armed members of the al-aqsa martyrs brigades have taken control of nablus and declared that the zionist occupation forces are no longer allowed in the city.’”

The tweet featured a video of armed militants from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade is the armed wing of Fatah, the main group in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The Brigade has been listed as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. State Department since March 2002 and was responsible for multiple suicide bombings [00:13:37] during the second intifada, in 2002-2004.

On June 23, 2021, Ayoubi shared a graphic to Instagram that commemorated the “one year anniversary of ahmad erekat’s martyrdom.”

Ahmad Erekat [Ahmad Moustafa Erekat; Ahmed Erakat] was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated and rammed his car into soldiers at a checkpoint. One female soldier was injured. The incident was captured on video.

Ayoubi retweeted a July 8, 2021 tweet by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) that read: “On this day, we observe the anniversary of the martyrdom of Palestinian revolutionary writer and critic, Ghassan Kanafani. More⬇️.”

Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.

Ayoubi retweeted a September 6, 2021 tweet by anti-Israel activist Dunia Ghanimah that read: “The most beautiful moment was watching my Dad, a former political prisoner, cry tears of joy and get excited when he found out 6 Palestinian prisoners escaped an Israeli prison. The love Palestinian prisoners have for each other is stronger than any occupation.”

On September 6, 2021, six Palestinian prisoners escaped from the maximum-security Gilboa Prison in northern Israel. Following a 10-day manhunt, all the escaped prisoners were recaptured and imprisoned by Israeli authorities.

The escaped prisoners were convicted members of the terror organizations Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the armed wing of Fatah, the main group in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

They were convicted and sentenced for their involvement in terror attacks carried out during the second intifada, which was characterized by more than 120 suicide bombings targeting Israeli civilians on buses and in cafes.

Hatred of America

Ayoubi retweeted a May 29, 2021 tweet that read: “When America funds genocide American politicians are emboldened to show their true colors. This is AmeriKKKa and this is Zionism and both are Anti-Palestinian & Islamophobic...”

The term “Amerikkka” uses the initials of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) as a way to demonize America as “fascist or racist.”

On December 9, 2020, Ayoubi tweeted a photo of a dog defecating on a Confederate flag with emojis of the American and British flags and wrote: “this is for southwest asia and north africa.”

On September 1, 2020, Ayoubi tweeted: “imagine being proud to be amerikkkan lmfaooo [laughing my a** off] i—.”

On May 29, 2020, Ayoubi tweeted: “a reminder: this country ain’t s**t and it was NEVER not s**t. amerikkka was doomed from the start bc [because] it began w [with] the genocide of MILLIONS of Indigenous ppl [people] and the forced abduction/slavery of millions others. & before some white rat wants to jump on the ‘well if it’s so bad…’”

Promoting Incitement

On May 8, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “during the holy month [of Ramadan]...at an ancient mosque. these settlers are f**king depraved.”

Ayoubi’s tweet referred to clashes on the Al Aqsa compound that day.

In May 2021, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa compound following claims the Al-Aqsa Mosque was in danger. The subsequent incitement was a leading factor in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza into Israel later that month. Israel responded by launching “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza. Allegations of Jews “threatening” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque have been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews predating the State of Israel.

Ayoubi retweeted a July 19, 2021 tweet by Rami Kablawi, an activist with SJP at the University of Chicago (U of C), that read: “Israeli forces just desecrated al Aqsa, as they did in May. They're still terrorizing families in Sheikh Jarrah, like in May…”

In May 2021, Palestinian violence erupted in anticipation of an Israel High Court ruling on eviction proceedings concerning over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.

Hatred of Zionists

Ayoubi retweeted an August 1, 2021 tweet that read: “is a zionist piece of s**t.”

The tweet was responding to a tweet that read: “Billie Eilish” with a photograph of the American singer and songwriter, Billie Eilish.

On May 25, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “every isr*el supporter ugly asf [as f**k] idc [I don’t care].”

On August 10, 2020, Ayoubi tweeted: “i luv when the z*onists will reply w [with] their selfies and i’m cackling scrolling thru their pics like y’all STILL ugly! Khalas [enough is enough] 💅🏼.”

Demonizing Israel

Ayoubi retweeted a September 28, 2021 tweet that read: “The Jewish victims of the Holocaust were killed once during the nazi genocide and are killed again every time their memories and names are used to justify the zionist colonization and genocide of the Palestinian people. They are not pawns you can wield to justify colonization.”

During Israel’s OGW, Ayoubi retweeted another May 13, 2021 tweet that read: “There is no way to describe what's happening to Gaza right now as anything other than outright genocidal.”

On March 29, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “claiming middle eastern north african things as your own and ethnic cleansing.”

Ayoubi’s tweet was responding to a tweet that read: “And finally, what is Israel famous for?”

Demonizing Zionism

Ayoubi retweeted a May 30, 2021 tweet that read: “Death to colonialism means the end of Zionism. It means a free Palestine. It means Land Back. It means the destruction of statehood, walls and borders. It means the end of apartheid, police and any other tools of the colonizer.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

Ayoubi retweeted a May 28, 2021 tweet that read: “zionism IS racism. it's ultranationalism and colonialism. of course it is racism.”

In 1975, an anti-Israel resolution that branded Zionism as a form of racism was proposed to the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN). Although the resolution passed in 1975, it was repealed in 1991, by a much larger majority.

Ayoubi retweeted a May 12 2021 tweet that read: “On the eve of Eid al-Fitr, we pray that settler colonialism, white supremacy, zionism, and capitalism are wiped from our beloved Earth…”

Eid al-Fitr, or “Feast of Breaking the Fast,”is a religious holiday in Islam marking the end of a month-long fasting period during the month of Ramadan.

Solidarity with Yasmeen Mashayekh

In December and November 2021, Ayoubi tweeted and retweeted multiple times in support of Mashayekh who was [00:11:08] in the middle of a national controversy over anti-Semitism she spread on social media that year.

In October 2021, Mashayekh was listed as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Senator for USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering (Viterbi). In May 2021, she tweeted: “I want to f**king kill every motherf**king Zionist.” She also tweeted: “yel3an el yahood [curse the Jews]😌.”

Mashayekh has also spread violent hatred of Israeli Jews, called for the destruction of Israel and America, expressed support for Hamas and glorified terrorists.

Mashayekh was condemned after Canary Mission exposed her anti-Semitic tweets.

On November 26, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “if you consider yourself an ally to the palestinian cause, i urge you to stand in solidarity with yasmeen mashayek, who is a student at @USCViterbi being targeted by a zionist-led harassment campaign. make a tweet tagging @USCViterbi and let them know you support yasmeen…”

Endorsing Anti-Israel Agitators

On July 31, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “happy birthday to thee baddest !!@YourFriendSamer your light has reached all over the world and you are a queer palestinian icon we love u.”

Ayoubi’s tweet was addressed to former SJP activist Samer Alhato at Saint Xavier University (SXU).

Samer Alhato has promoted anti-Israel hatred to high school students, trivialized sexual assault, spread anti-Semitism, advocated for violence, mocked disabled children and spread anti-Black bigotry.

Alhato has also supported the terror group Hamas, justified terrorism and glorified a terrorist.

On March 23, 2013, Alhato tweeted: “@BarackObama shut up about gay marriage and go kill all the Jews.”

On May 15, 2021, Ayoubi tweeted: “it’s no coincidence that @m7mdkurd [Mohammed El-Kurd] ‘s birthday falls on nakba day. a day of anguish marks the birth of one of our most beloved revolutionaries. there’s a poem somewhere in there but i’ll let him write it himself. may you live another 100 years & grow old in a liberated palestine.”

In May 2021, Mohammed El-Kurd --returned from the United States to Israel, following a February 16, 2021 Israeli District Court ruling to evict over 70 Palestinian tenants.

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

Supporting BDS

Ayoubi retweeted a June 15, 2021 tweet that read: “to show solidarity w [with] palestine, boycott zara. it’s the easiest boycott ever considering their clothes are made in extremely exploitative settings, are overpriced, and are constantly falling apart at the seams. the quality of their clothes is usually garbage anyway.”

Ayoubi retweeted a May 21, 2021 tweet that read: “One of the best things you can do to support Palestinians is to join the BDS effort. Boycott these companies that support Israeli war crimes. Economic pressure is CRUCIAL. We all know money talks when it comes to politics.”

The tweet featured a graphic with the logos of various of brands with a caption that read: “BOYCOTT THESE PRODUCTS TO END ISRAELI APARTHEID.”

Ayoubi retweeted a May 9, 2021 tweet that read: “If you’re in the US and asking how to support #SaveSheikhJarrah, the answer is: Boycott, divest from & sanction Israel. Start with the $3.8 billion the US sends Israel annually from our tax $$. That check is material & political cover for Israel to do what it wants with impunity.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
