Noun Abdelaziz

Noun Abdelaziz expressed support for Hamas terrorism and engaged in anti-Israel activism as a member of an anti-Israel student group.

Abdelaziz's activism took place during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. To learn more, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.

In 2023, Abdelaziz was a member of the anti-Israel campus group General Union Of Palestine Students (GUPS) chapter at the at San Francisco State University (SFSU) (GUPS SFSU).

As of July 2025, Abdelaziz's LinkedIn profile said she graduated from SFSU with a bachelor's degree in sociology in December 2023.

Also as of July 2025, Abdelaziz's Facebook page said she was from Cairo, Egypt.

As of the same date, Abdelaziz's Instagram bio said she was a writer and was located in San Francisco, California.

On October 12, 2023, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, GUPS SFSU posted on Instagram a pro-Hamas statement that said [slide 1]: "The events that started on October 7th represent the consequence of more than 75 years....These historic events, catapulted by the Al Aqsa Flood, are the natural result...In Gaza, the world's largest open air prison..."

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.

The modern State of Israel was founded 75 years earlier, in 1948.

Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, also known as Al-Aqsa Storm, is the name Hamas used for their terror operation on October 7, 2023. It is a reference to the allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, and has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before Israel was founded in 1948.

Referring to Gaza as an “open-air prison” is a way to delegitimize the UN-approved [pp. 39–41] joint Israeli-Egyptian blockade of the Gaza Strip imposed in 2011 to prevent Hamas from acquiring more sophisticated rockets. Following Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, the Israeli military discovered that Hamas went around the blockade by smuggling weaponry through tunnels under the Philadelphi corridor separating Gaza from Egypt.

The statement also said [slide 3]: "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free."

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
