Hatred of America
On February 21, 2017, Elmashni wrote on Facebook: “I got so annoyed of seeing the poster some white man made of a ‘muslim woman’ in an amerikkkan flag hijab…”The term “Amerikkka” uses the initials of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) as a way to demonize America as “fascist or racist.”
On November 9, 2016, Elmashni wrote on Facebook: “...And every day our homelands have to survive US imperialism, occupation, and other forms of violence…Our struggles didnt matter until the rest of white liberal amerikkka became on the chopping block.”
Glorifying Terrorists
On October 10, 2015, during the “Knife Intifada,” Elmashni wrote on Facebook: “A heavy list of Palestine's martyrs since the beginning of the recent uprisings- October 10, 2015 | May they rest in eternal power and peace…”In October 2015, there was an upsurge in violence across Israel incited by Palestinian political and religious leaders. The wave of stabbings, known as the “Knife Intifada,” was characterized by young Palestinians throughout the country stabbing and attempting to stab Israeli civilians.
In the same Facebook post, Elmashni’s “list of Palestine’s martyrs” included Muhannad Halabi, who stabbed to death two Israelis and wounded a 2-year-old; Thair Abu Ghazala, who attacked five Israelis with a screwdriver; and Muhammad Aljabari, who stabbed an Israeli border police officer.
On March 23, 2016, Elmashni updated her Facebook cover photo to one that showed George Habash surrounded by a group of uniformed men.
George Habash, who has been called“the godfather of Middle East terrorism,” founded the terrorist organization the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). In 1970, Habash was the mastermind behind the hijacking of four Western airliners known as the Dawson Field hijackings. In 1972, the PFLP collaborated with Japanese Red Army terrorists to massacre 24 people at Israel's Lod International Airport (renamed Ben Gurion International Airport).
On November 26, 2016, Elmashni shared on Facebook a poster of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and Yasser Arafat holding hands while raising their arms high. The poster was captioned: “Revolution Until Victory.” Elmashni wrote: “Published by the PLO circa 1980.”
As of September 2022, Elmashni’s Twitter bio linked to a blog website that featured images and quotes from well-known terrorists such as PFLP leaders Habash, Leila Khaled and Ghassan Kanafani.
Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.
Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.
The same blog website in Elmashni’s Twitter bio also featured an image of Arafat with the quote: “‘The Palestinian Rifle is ready and we will aim it if they try to prevent us from praying in Jerusalem.’”
Anti-Israel Activism
On May 12, 2018, Elmashni featured in a Facebook photo from an AROC event titled: “Community Event to Commemorate the 70th year of al-Nakba.”The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.
AROC described the event as a kick-off “to uplift 70 Years of resistance to the Zionist occupation of Palestine” and a preparation for “upcoming rallies demanding an end to the occupation.”
On December 9, 2017, Elmashni spoke at a protest titled: “All Out For Palestine: Hands Off Jerusalem!” The protest was held against the United States government’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The protest was co-sponsored by AROC, GUPS SFSU and the Bay Area chapter of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). Elmashni appeared in numerous photos taken at the protest.
At the protest, anti-Israel activists held signs that said “Zionism is racism” and “Zionism=terrorism.” One activist held a sign of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu caricatured as the devil, while another participant held one of then-U.S. president Donald Trump caricatured as Hitler, with the caption: “TWITLER.”
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.
