On October 12, 2023, Elmarzouky spoke [00:00:01] at a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, titled: “All Eyes on Palestine: Rally Against Media Suppression of Palestinian Resistance.”

At the rally, Elmarzouky addressed [0:0:00:55] media outlets and journalists saying: “It is your journalistic responsibility to tell the truth, to tell the facts, to tell the true history of the 75 year occupation and ethnic cleansing and the genocide that is clear when you look at the stories on the ground.”

The modern State of Israel was founded 75 years earlier, in 1948.

Elmarzouky continued [00:01:48]: “Start reporting on the fact that we send eight billion dollars of U.S. tax dollars to support this colonization, to support this ethnic cleansing. Media is time to hold our government and these colonizers accountable.”

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation.

Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, approximately 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.

A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.

On October 19, 2023, Elmarzouky spoke [01:04:07] during public comment against Philadelphia City Council Resolution 230706 titled: “Condemning the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel and calling for a peaceful resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.”

Elmarzouky wore a shirt that featured terrorist Leila Khaled holding a rifle with the words: “resistance is not terrorism.”

Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.

During the public comment, Elmarzouky claimed [01:04:39]: “Palestine is occupied by the apartheid state named Israel.” She later accused [01:04:56] Israel of “genocide.”

Elmarzouky also said [01:05:18]: “We talk about displacement and gentrification up in this place right now, but we don’t talk about colonization and how that’s gentrification and displacement.”

Several protesters were forced out of the City Council meeting reportedly for disrupting other speakers who supported the resolution during public comment.

On October 19, 2023, the City Council reportedly unanimously approved the resolution to condemn the Hamas attacks.

As of December 2023, Elmarzouky’s LinkedIn profile said: “idea/art doula | cultural organizer | community engagement | experiential curriculum design | exhibition activation.”

As of the same date, Elmarzouky’s LinkedIn said she had been a climate justice organizer with POWER Interfaith in Philadelphia since July 2020.

As of December 2023, Elmarzouky’s LinkedIn said she was co-founder of In•site collaborative, “a multidisciplinary design consultancy tackling issues around unequal urban development in any city.” She was an adjunct professor at Temple University (Temple) at its Tyler School of Art and Architecture from September to December 2021.

As of December 2023, Elmarzouky’s LinkedIn also said she received a master’s degree in “Theories of Urban Practice” from Parsons School of Design at The New School (New School) in 2015.

In 2020, Elmarzouky co-founded the Friends, Peace, Sanctuary Journal (FSP Journal), a Philadelphia-based newspaper published in Arabic and English.
