Murad Awawdeh
Murad Awawdeh spread hatred of Israel and participated in activism in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in November 2023. Awawdeh has also promoted antisemitism online.
The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas.
As of January 2026, Awawdeh was listed as a member of the transition team for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, serving on the Immigrant Justice Committee.
Mamdani has called for dismantling capitalism and promoted hatred of the police. He has also justified Hamas terrorism and glorified terror supporters. On his first day as mayor, he revoked executive orders designed to combat antisemitism, including increased police protection at synagogues, and nullified a ban on city officials to boycott Israel.
Awawdeh has also expressed support for to anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour since at least 2017.
Linda Sarsour has been a political mentor to Mamdani since at least 2017. She has expressed support for violence in America and called for Israel's destruction. She endorsed his 2020 run to the New York State Assembly and backed his 2025 mayoral campaign, which she said received significant funding from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
As of January 2026, Awawdeh's LinkedIn said he was the president and CEO of the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) and NYIC Action.
As of the same date, Awawdeh's Facebook said he was located in Brooklyn, New York.
