Mohammad Tabel

Overview

Mohammad Tabel has mocked the gassing of Jews during the Holocaust and posted hatred of Jews, Israel and homophobic comments on social media. Tabel was a member of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), at the University of California, Riverside (UC Riverside). Tabel is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Tabel works as a Sales Associate at Rag and Bone.

As of April 2019, Tabel’s LinkedIn indicated he was a student at UC Riverside, majoring in Chemical Engineering.

Mocking the Holocaust

On November 10, 2013, Tabel tweeted: "@jahulibarri I was making fun of how the Jews got gassed but ok."

On February 19, 2014, in response to a tweet that read: "Jews seem like they're always sad, did something bad happen to them in the past?" Tabel tweeted: “naw f**k them well the Zionist are bitches and back stab and are hypocrites.”

Hatred of Israel

On March 29, 2016, Tabel tweeted: "So f**k zionists and Zionist supporters. You guys are just like ISIS, Taliban, and Al Queda, you guys are terrorists."

On March 3, 2015, Tabel tweeted: "Ehhhh I don't care for Israel (zionists) they're murderers and hypocrites."

On July 30, 2014, Tabel tweeted: "@_mariosinambela Israel can suck my a**."

On July 9, 2014, Tabel tweeted: "@JVZL69 @TristanGrimes12 now you guys know my hatred towards Zionists."

On December 24, 2013, Tabel tweeted: "Well if you want to get technical we hate zionists."

On January 19, 2017, in a Twitter conversation about a health concern caused by toxicity in falafel, Tabel tweeted: "@M_ghouls @fattyhasasalad I blame Israel."

On January 8, 2017, Tabel tweeted: "How can you claim to be against terrorism when you support Israel, who supports al Qaeda to fight Assad and supports isis to fight Iran."

On June 29, 2016, Tabel tweeted: "Smh people never believe me on how s\**tty Israel is, and how f**ked up they are."

Demonizing Israel

On July 23, 2014, Tabel tweeted: "At least Palestinians aim at the soldiers Israel is just murdering any Palestinian they see."

On July 13, 2014, Tabel tweeted an image featuring a fabricated quote, attributed to Albert Einstein, that read: "It would be my greatest sadness to see Zionists do to Palestinian Arabs much of what Nazis did to Jews."

Homophobic Comments

On September 12, 2016, Tabel tweeted: "@_mariosinambela nah f**k that gay s**t."

On October 28, 2016, Tabel tweeted: "‘The best part of twitter is u on it’ are you f**king gay."

On June, 19, 2016, Tabel tweeted: "@AudelMLN you're so f**king gay."

On April 15, 2016, Tabel tweeted: "@LaraKealiiBeck @Boghie_ I'm too nice . And it was a gay ass nerdy Asian laugh. I almost died."

On February 8, 2016, Tabel tweeted: "This niggas logic is so f**king gay I died from AIDS. Does not justify anything that they do. #Pussys."

On August 17, 2015, Tabel tweeted: "@fattyhasasalad shut yo gay ass up niqqa just."

On August 10, 2015, Tabel tweeted: "When you figure out yo nigga gay outta nowhere (Vine by @_KingJonez)."

On October 5, 2014, Tabel tweeted: "Always taking this fag to McDonalds."

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.

MSA

The MSA was established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
