Michelle Zacarias
Michelle Zacarias is a university journalism instructor who expressed support for Hamas terrorist war crimes and spread an antisemitic conspiracy theory in late 2023.
The incidents occurred following a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.
The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.
As of December 14, 2023, Zacarias was listed online as an adjunct instructor at the Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California. Zacarias’s USC biographical page said: “Expertise: Arts and Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, Gender and Sexuality, Policy and Law, Politics, Popular Culture, Race and Ethnicity, Social Justice.”
As of the same date, Zacarias was also listed online as a recipient of the 2023-25 California Local News Fellowship from the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) Graduate School of Journalism.
As of the same date, Zacarias was listed online as having graduated from the USC Gould School of Law with a master’s degree in 2023.
Zacarias is reportedly a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
