Maryam Higazi

Maryam Higazi was a leader in a Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter that expressed support for terror and hatred of Israel in the wake of the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks against Israel.

Higazi served as vice-president of the SJP chapter at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC SJP) during the 2023-2024 academic year. UMBC is located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Higazi’s SJP chapter expressed [slide 5] support for Hamas less than two weeks after Hamas perpetrated their terror atrocities and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

A November 23, 2021 article listed Higazi as the freshman representative for UMBC’s Muslim Student Association (MSA).

As of October 2024, Higazi's LinkedIn profile said she was studying for a bachelor’s degree in biology at UMBC, slated to graduate in 2025.

As of the same date, Higazi’s LinkedIn also said she was located in the “Washington DC-Baltimore Area.”
