Maliha Ahmed reportedly signed an anti-Israel statement in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

The January 15, 2024 statement Maliha Ahmed signed accused Israel of an “ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza” as well as “apartheid [and] ethnic cleansing,” during its war against Hamas.

Signatories were affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY), and the statement sought to develop “a SUNY-wide Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Movement…at all 64 SUNY campuses.”

As of February 2026, Maliha Ahmed's LinkedIn said she graduated from Stony Brook University (SBU) with a bachelor's degree in chemical and molecular engineering in May 2024.

SBU is part of SUNY and is located in Stony Brook, New York.

As of the same date, Maliha Ahmed's LinkedIn also said she was a tech transfer engineer at PPG in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
