Anti-Semitism

On March 20, 2017, Shbaita wrote on CuriousCat: “falastin bladna wil yahood klabna [Palestine is our land and the Jews are our dogs].”

Shbaita retweeted a January 2, 2023 tweet that read: “Isn't it so weird how Israel is downplaying actual Nazi fascism to defend against their own genocidal fascism?”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

Shbaita retweeted a July 29, 2023 tweet that embedded a photo of two boys, one holding an Israeli flag and the other holding a Neo-Nazi flag with the comment “Makes no sense but here we are.” Shbaita tweeted: “Makes a lot of sense.”

Support for Terrorists (Hamas, PFLP)

On January 7, 2017, Shbaita tweeted: “i cant wait to marry a Palestinian and have hamas nasheeds [Islamic songs] playing as we walk down the aisle 😌💕💕

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

Shbaita retweeted a March 23, 2017 tweet that read: “March 23rd, 2004, Today we remember the assassination of Palestinian leader sheikh Ahmad Yassin, may your soul rest in peace.”

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin has been described as the “mastermind of Palestinian terror” behind many suicide bombings against Israeli civilians on buses and in cafes during the second intifada. In January 2003, Yassin said in an interview: “Suicide attacks and jihad reinforce national unity in the ranks…Our voice is one of struggle, of jihad and of suicide…”

Shbaita retweeted a series of February 26, 2016 tweets promoting terrorist Rasmea Odeh.

Odeh was a key military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a PFLP supermarket bombing that killed two college students. She also attempted to bomb the British consulate in Jerusalem. Odeh later moved to the United States but was deported to Jordan in 2017 for immigration fraud.

Hatred of Israel

On December 27, 2016, Shbaita tweeted: “theres pll [people] outchea [out here] who are pro israel that wanna be friends and expect me to be ok with that... how do i politely fracture someones skull?”

On January 29, 2017, Shbaita was asked on CuriousCat: “Would you go out with a israeli?” Shbaita answered: “kill yourself for asking me this xx.”

Shbaita retweeted an April 14, 2022 tweet that read: “There are many moments from May 2021 that are etched into my memory, but this morning's attacks on Al Aqsa reminded me of the one I want to forget the most.”

The tweet included a video allegedly showing Jews dancing and cheering while a tree burned near the Al-Aqsa mosque. The fire was reportedly caused by Palestinian rioters shooting fireworks at Israeli police. Jews had gathered at the Western Wall in honor of Jerusalem Day, an Israeli national holiday, with no connection to the incident.

Shbaita retweeted an April 10, 2022 tweet by Tara Alami that read: “if you’re not ready to deal with armed resistance, don’t be a settler and go back to where you came from lol.”

Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.

Shbaita retweeted a January 27, 2023 tweet that read: “Palestinians have every right to defend themselves against Israeli colonialism and ethnic cleansing by all means necessary. Any Palestinian retaliation to Israeli terrorism is justified.”

Shbaita retweeted a July 3, 2023 tweet that alleged: “Israeli troops seize control of Palestinian homes in Jenin to murder Palestinians!”

In early July 2023, Israeli forces launched a two-day counterterrorism operation in the Jenin refugee camp. Its goal was to target terrorists and dismantle the terror infrastructure of organizations such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). By the end of the operation, the Israeli army had reportedly dismantled “hundreds of explosives, weapons caches and underground tunnels.”

High School Terror Support (Hamas)

On May 15, 2015, Shbaita tweeted: “member of Hamas #Nakba67 #WeWillReturn…”

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

On December 17, 2014, Shbaita tweeted: “@Independent: BREAKING: The EU no longer officially considers Hamas a terror group…❤️❤️❤️❤️” The tweet featured a photo of Palestinian masked militants holding assault rifles.

On November 25, 2014, Shbaita tweeted: “...Hamas is resistance they protect us they don't hurt us they never have it's all an excuse when they say they do.”

High School Hatred of Israel and America

On January 26, 2015, Shbaita tweeted a screenshot that read: “‘yil 3an abu amreeka w yil 3an abu israeel’ [curse the fathers of America and curse the fathers of Israel] — Ancient arabic proverb…” Shbaita commented: “😍😍❤️yes.”

On December 10, 2014, Shbaita tweeted: “obama gives israel 3 billion dollars annually to keep killing Palestinian babies but he only gives them the money by accident right??”

On November 8, 2014, Shbaita tweeted: “‘@iFalasteen: Palestinians puncture hole in Israel's apartheid wall… #FreePalestine 🙏🙏🙏” The tweet featured photos of Palestinian militants attempting to breach Israel’s security barrier.

On July 27, 2014, Shbaita tweeted: “@1DProfessionals holocaust #2 has been happening in Palestine for 68 years now.”

On October 11, 2012, Shbaita tweeted: “@cher what's the problem everyone hates israel.”

On May 27, 2012, Shbaita tweeted: “#ThingsYouJustDONTDo support israel.”
