Kaya Toney

Kaya Toney was arrested at a pro-Hamas encampment at the University of Georgia (UGA) during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks.

Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds more that day. For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.

On April 29, 2024, Kaya Toney was arrested for “misdemeanor criminal trespass” at the UGA encampment, which was part of a national movement on college campuses during Israel’s war against Hamas.

The encampments were in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of March 2025, Toney indicated in his Instagram bio that he was an activist with the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) chapter at Georgia State University (Georgia State), known as YDSA GSU.

Also as of March 2025, Toney's LinkedIn profile said Toney was studying for a bachelor's degree in history at Georgia State, slated to graduate in 2025.

As of the same date, Toney's LinkedIn said Toney was located in Lilburn, Georgia. UGA is located in Athens, Georgia.
