Defending Violent Protesters
On the same day, Walker tweeted: “Thread!” and embedded a UofSC SJP tweet that called on their followers to: “contact your members of congress NOW. Demand that Israel is held accountable for their grave crimes against Palestinians.”
Also that day, Walker tweeted: “Look at these pictures. Could you imagine this being your home, the place you grew up in and always knew to be yours? The Palestinians simply want respite from occupying Israeli forces wreaking daily havoc on their comminities. They shouldn't have to pay for that. #Nakba70.”
Walker embedded in his tweet a tweet that said: “‘Terrible massacre’: Israel kills 41, injures 1,700 Gaza protesters as US embassy opens in Jerusalem” along with photos of the March of Return demonstrators.
Opposing a State Bill Addressing Anti Semitism
On February 22, 2017, Walker attended UofSC SJP’s “Stop anti-Palestine Legislation at SC state house!” and spoke [00:44:38] against the bill during the hearing.
Spreading Hatred of Israel
On May 15, 2018, Walker tweeted: “Today, May 15, marks 70 years of Palestinian displacement and dispossession. Palestinian rights are human rights! #Nakba70.”On March 28, 2018, Walker tweeted: “The global trans community needs to resist buying into efforts by Israel to portray their brutal occupation, military etc. as LGBTQ+ inclusive, the tactic of ‘Pinkwashing.’”
“Pinkwashing” is a claim that Israel advocates manipulate the LGBTQ community in order to garner support for Israel.
On February 2, 2018, Walker tweeted: “Israel is that person who is toxic and manipulative towards everyone, especially those who they view as less than them, and cry fowl when people stop talking to them. Israel girl, no one cares girl.”
On March 4, 2019, Walker tweeted “There is nothing antisemitic about criticizing Israel as a government/foreign power when it continues perpetuating human rights abuses against Palestinians.”
On March 7, 2019, Walker tweeted: “The Christian Zionist lobby is insurmountably large and that's who Ilhan Omar was speaking out about. Their support for Israel is all about keeping money and power in a white military state that doesn't belong where it stands. Ugh.”
On March 24, 2019, Walker tweeted that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is “a behemoth lobby doing everything in its power to advance settler colonialism.”
The stated mission of AIPAC is to “strengthen, protect and promote the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance the security of the United States and Israel.”
Demonizing Zionism
Tamika Mallory is a follower of Louis Farrakhan who has equated Jews with both Satan and termites and named Hitler a “very great man.” Mallory has also demonized Israel and reportedly blamed Jews for the slave trade.
On March 28, 2018, Walker tweeted: “Take: Zionism is still inherently violent even if it ‘includes’ lgbtq in its ranks. Take: Lgbtq folk are violent if Zionists, regardless of sexual or gender ID.”
On June 22, 2017, Walker tweeted at a Twitter user and fan of Israeli movie star Gal Gadot “Imagine stanning (being a fan of) a Zionist so hard you start echoing settler colonial ideology with no argumentative basis.”
Defending Anti-Israel Agitators
On January 7, 2018, Walker updated his Facebook profile photo with a “Free Ahed Tamimi” frame.
On November 30, 2017, Walker tweeted at Linda Sarsour: “The people who can't see the nuances in your points about dismantling anti-Semitism while being anti-Zionist have a clear agenda to push. You should've never been pressured to offer further clarity on the subject.”
At Farrakhan’s 2015 #JusticeOrElse March, Sarsour asserted [00:00:36]: “The same people who justify the massacres of Palestinian people and call it ‘collateral damage’ are the same people who justify the murder of young black men and women.”
Supporting BDS
Coca Cola operates in 14 countries in the Middle East, including Israel, where it has been since 1967. Coca Cola is targeted by BDS activists due to their Israeli operations.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
