On November 17, 2023, during Israel’s war against Hamas, anti-Israel activist groups held a pro-terror rally in Pittsburgh. One speaker received loud cheers when he expressed support for terrorism. Other speakers later called for Israel’s destruction and were also greeted with cheers from the crowd.
At the rally, Laing told protesters: "We say that colonized people have a right to resist occupation and fight for self-determination by any means necessary!" The crowd cheered in support.
Anti-Israel activists use the phrase “by any means necessary,” as one of multiple euphemisms for terrorist violence, including “resistance.”
During his speech, Laing also said he opposed the "racist apartheid settler state of Israel."
