AJP Denying Israel’s Right to Exist

Esteban attended an AJP organized anti-Israel protest, opposing Israel’s Operation Protective Edge.

On September 17, 2014, AJP organized an anti-Israel protest, opposing Israel’s Operation Protective Edge. Demonstrators held signs and placards reading: "Zionism is Racism," “Stand up against Israeli Apartheid,” and“To Exist is to Resist.”

Demonstrators denied Israel’s right to exist in any part of Palestine — chanting the extremist uncompromising stance of Hamas leader, Khaled Mashal, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," and “Free, free Palestine, Israel out of Palestine.”

AJP - Athens Justice for Palestine

Athens Justice for Palestine (AJP) was established in 2005 and purports to be an organization promoting peace and human rights. AJP’s mission statement states its goal is to educate people about the history of the Middle East. As well as to "facilitate constructive debate" with Israelis, Palestinians and Americans in order to “resolve the ongoing conflict.” AJP’s Twitter feed and activities demonstrate otherwise:

AJP’s anti-Semitic Incitement

On March 5, 2013, Esteban exploited an article by Al Jazerea, misrepresenting the creation of a new bus service for Palestinians in the Judea and Samaria as a racist endeavor.AJP’s Twitter feed features retweets advocating for terrorist violence — such as a picture of a woman with an assault rifle in front to Popular Front for The Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) flags — and declaring “Liberation struggle through all forms.” AJP’s Twitter feed also frequently links to sites that regularly spread Israel-hating propaganda, including Electronic intifada and Mondoweiss.

On November 18, 2015, an AJP hosted an event featuring New York-based poet and writer Remi Kanazi. Kanazi tours widely presenting aggressively anti-Israel poetry and spoken-word performances. On this occasion he referred to Israel as “s**tty,” “ethnic cleansing”, and Zionism as “Racism” and colonialism.”

On March 15, 2012, as part of their annual Israeli Apartheid week AJP hosted the radical anti-Zionist Professor, Noel Ignatiev, who delivered a lecture titled Zionism - an Ideology of Race. Ignatiev is a known purveyor of extreme anti-Israel views and his heavily distorted entry on Zionism was removed from a prominent encyclopedia following an independent review.

On January 25, 2009, an AJP organized anti-Israel protest outside the CNN building, featured signs accusing Israel of Nazism  — like an Israeli flag with a Swastika instead of the star of David. Other signs read “the Real Nazis,” “Israeli Terrorists” and “Genocide in Palestine.”

On December 31, 2008, AJP and other anti-Israel groups held a protest in front of the Israeli Consulate in Atlanta. Protesters chanted

AJP Demonizing Israel - Promoting Violence

On March 18, 2015, AJP erected a Mock Apartheid wall in an attempt to falsely recharacterize the purpose of Israel’s security fence. Written text on the mock wall made a false claim that Israel’s security barrier was built on "90% of Palestinian land."

On February 19, 2013, AJP held an Israeli Apartheid day, where activists created displays and a black board that read "Existence is Resistance," advocating for Palestinian popular “resistance.” On February 23, 2016 made clear that his agreement that there can be no alternative to violence, stating: “There can be no dialogue with occupation. Only resistance.”

The displays included fabricated or distorted quotations allegedly said by Israel’s leaders. One displayed a libelous, fabricated quote, attributed to Ariel Sharon, about evicting Palestinians being "necessary." Another quote distortedand quoted out of context the words of the founder of modern Zionism, Theodor Herzl.

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
