Anti-Semitism

On July 10, 2014, Karajeh tweeted: “@israel_shield in 1948, ya kelb ibn 7mar [you dog son of a donkey]. Europeans didn't want y'all in their countries so you took over the PALESTINIANS' land!”

The handle @israel_shield belonged to Ari Fuld, a Jewish Israeli who was fatally stabbed by a Palestinian terrorist in September 2018.

On July 25, 2014, Karajeh tweeted: “@bethcarter1998 @_amFathima boo, there's a reason there's no other Jewish state. Nobody wants y'all. And how bout you hop on out of my tl [timeline].”

On August 2, 2014, Karajeh tweeted in reference to then-Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “The world condemned Hitler, why not do the same with Netanyahu.”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

On May 31, 2015, Karajah tweeted: “Zionism mimics nazism.”

Hatred of Israel

On July 13, 2014, Karajeh tweeted: “@netanyahu ya kelb ibnhiywan [you dog son of an animal], I hope you die the most painful death and rot in hell for all eternity. Tfoo 3alayk [I spit on you] & all of Israel.”

On July 16, 2014, during Operation Protective Edge (OPE), Karajah tweeted: “get tf outta here with that bs. What Israel is doing is not ‘self-defence’. It's ethnic cleansing, it's genocide.”

Israel commenced OPE in July 2014 to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.

On Feb 11, 2015, Karajah tweeted: @netanyahu good, I hope Israel is done for. Tfu 3layk [I spit on you].” The tweet was in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's tweet: “the offer that has been made to Iran...threatens Israel's survival.”

On May 28, 2015, Karajah tweeted: “inta 7mar [you're a donkey]. It's not about religion, it's about ZIONIST ISRAELIS ethnically cleansing Palestinians from our own homeland.”

On July 23, 2015, Karajah tweeted: “it's Palestine. Get it right, you illegal colonial settler.”

On November 27, 2015, Karajeh tweeted an image of a map of Palestine in 1946 up to the year 2010 with the headline “Palestinian loss of land.”

The maps claim that lands once controlled by Britain, Egypt and Jordan as autonomous “Palestinian land” were purportedly stolen by Israel. In February 2016, publisher McGraw-Hill Education recalled copies of a college textbook containing the fraudulent maps. In October 2015, American cable news network MSNBC apologized for airing a similar series of maps and retracted them.

On July 25, 2016, Karajah tweeted: “...Zionists do not belong on Palestinian soil. Israel should not exist."

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
