Al Najim has called for Israel to be dismantled, spread anti-Semitism, expressed support for Hamas and defended Hezbollah. He has also shown hatred of Zionists and Israel

Al Najim is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of October 2022, Najim was listed as “Director” of Canadian Defenders for Human Rights (CD4HR), a non-profit group whose stated mission is “to defend the rights of humans of all backgrounds…” Al Najim headed the organization in 2020 and 2021.

As of September 2022, Al Najim’s LinkedIn page said he was the Manager of the “Canadian Database for Human Resources,” at CD4HR since 2017 and a “Human Rights Defender, Manager” at CD4HR since 2015.

As of October 2022, Al Najim’s LinkedIn said he was located in the Greater Toronto Area.

As of June 2022, Al Najim used the handle “@Islamic_HR” on TikTok and the handle “@cd4_hr” on Instagram. He also used the handle “@firasacrifice” on TikTok.

As of October 2022, Al Najim used the handle “@Islamic_HR” and the handle “@cd4_hr”on Twitter.

Targeting Jewish Businesses

On July 1, 2022, Al Najim and fellow CD4HR co-director Aliya Hasan organized an anti-Israel protest where activists confronted Jewish shoppers outside of Taste of Israel, a kosher grocery store. The activists chanted anti-Israel and anti-Zionist slogans. The incident occurred in Thornhill, Ontario, home to Canada’s largest Jewish community.

In an Instagram post, which was dated the following day, Al Najim wrote: “#enoughisenough of this influential wealthy evil community that supports war crimes against the oppressed #palestinians day and night. @firas_alnajim speaks briefly about the recent experience on July 1st 2022 in #thornhill that they call the Jewish area.”

One CD4HR protestor raised her middle finger to Israel supporters and shouted [00:00:01]: “Shabbat Shalom, b**ches!,” mocking a term Jews use to greet each other on the Sabbath. Police arrested at least one protestor at the shopping plaza where the grocery and other stores catering to the Jewish community are located.

Al Najim featured in one of Hasan’s Instagram videos of the protest, leading [00:02:14]the chant “Zionism is terrorism! Down with Zionism!” and [00:02:26]: “...the State of Israel must go!” Hasan wrote that CD4HR activists were there to “confront zi*nists.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

Another protester shouted [00:00:07]: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.

On June 4, 2021, Al Najim tweeted that on May 13, 2021, he held a protest in front of Taste of Israel, writing that the protest was “in front of taste of Zionism store we called for a full boycott…”

The May 2021 protest was during Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls(OGW)

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

On November 14, 2020, CD4HR tweeted a video of Al Najim showing his support for a boycott of Indigo, a Canadian bookstore chain founded by Heather Reisman

Al Najim said [00:00:12]: “Why boycott Indigo? Because Indigo has a founder, okay. And this founder, Heather Reisman, if you look her up recently, she collaborated with a organization that is a supporter of the war criminal regime Israel, its called Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center.”

The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies is a Canadian non-profit dedicated to providing Holocaust education and fighting anti-Semitism and racism.

Harassing Jews

On September 13, 2022, Al Najim featured in a CD4HR video posted on Instagram captioned: “Holocaust survivor at uja israel bush event asked why she supports Palestinian oppression today.”

In the video, Al Najim approached an elderly woman at an event hosted by the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) that featured former United States president George W. Bush.

In the video, Al Najim said to the woman: “If you’re a Holocaust survivor, why do you support oppression? Why do you support people that are killing?” Al Najim then asked [00:00:10] a younger man next to her: “She escaped from the Nazi evil regime, is that correct? Right? So why, how come now the Israelis are killing the Palestinians and hurting them and you guys are doing nothing about it?”

On May 12, 2021, CD4HR tweeted a video of Al Najim in a public Toronto park where he confronted a man in a wheelchair who wore a hat with Hebrew text.

Al Najim asked the man what the Hebrew on the hat said, to which the man replied [00:00:13]: “It says police. It’s the Israeli IDF [Israel Defense Forces] checkpoint police.”

Al Najim then said [00:00:21]: “Oh my God, you used to work with them?...That’s criminal activity. Did you feel good about that?”

B’nai Brith Canada, a Jewish human rights group, filed a complaint about the incident with the Toronto police on July 19, 2021.

On August 13, 2019, Al Najim tweeted: “#CD4HR manager @Islamic_HR confronted the #Islamophobic & illegitimate #Zionist regime supporter…”

The tweet included a video of Al Najim following and verbally assaulting a Jewish woman and her child in a supermarket. The woman pleaded with Al Najim to stop, saying [00:00:24]: “You are harassing me. You are harrassing me right now. I’m gonna call 911 on you…I have a child, and you’re jeopardizing my child.”

Another video of the incident that was posted to YouTube on August 14, 2019, shows Al Najim saying [00:00:47] to the woman’s son in Arabic: “حبيبي امك مريضةامك مع الشسيطين دير بالك [Your mother is sick, your mother is together with Satan].”

Al Najim also said [00:01:03]: “امك تشتغل مغ الصهاينة [Your mother works with Zionists, my son.]” He continued [00:01:38]: “أنت شيطانة انت ابليسة [You’re Satan. You’re a devil.]”

Hatred of America

On January 2, 2022, Al Najim led a crowd in chanting [00:02:47]: “Death to the U.S. administration!”, “Death to America!” and [00:03:04]: “Down, down, USA!”

Al Najim’s chants were at the U.S. consulate in Toronto at a vigil held for Iranian terrorist leader Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in an American drone strike two years earlier.

On April 5, 2022, Al Najim posted to Tiktok a video of a blockade of Walmart trucks with text that said: “#july4th is an evil day of the establishment of the #american regime & we chose to blockade #walmart trailers with no deliveries in and out. #boycottwalmart #boycottisrael #boycottusa #boycottamerica #freepalestine.”

In the video, Al Najim said [00:00:14]: “Okay, the trucks here are not moving. Walmart's trucks are not moving, brothers and sisters. And the reason for that is because they support Israel.”

Glorifying a Terrorist

On January 1, 2022, Al Najim tweeted a photo of Qasem Soleimani and wrote: “#ourhero #Soleimani.”

Qasem Soleimani was the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, a branch of the Iranian military that carries out secret foreign operations. He was reportedly the second most powerful person in Iran. The United States designated Soleimani as a terrorist in 2011. In January 2020, the U.S. killed Soleimani in a targeted drone strike.

On May 11, 2021, Al Najim tweeted a photo of himself holding a poster honoring Soleimani that said: “He is the Great Commander of Jerusalem, the Holy Martyr and the Martyr of Jerusalem.”

The photo was from an anti-Israel rally and Al Najim wrote in the tweet: “يالله بحق سيد الشهداء سدد رمي المجاهدين في فلسطين المحتلة و انصرهم على المحتلين المجرمين. #فلسطين_تنتفض #فلسطين_تقاوم #القدس_اقرب [Oh God, for the sake of the master of martyrs, protect the mujahideen [holy war fighters] and award the victory over the criminal occupiers. #Palestine_uprising #Palestine_resisting #Jerusalem_gets_closer].”

On December 20, 2020, Al Najim tweeted: “Interview with me by @MehrnewsCom going into the 1 year anniversary of the martyrdom of the great #Iranian anti terrorist commander #QasemSoleimani…” Al Najim’s tweet included a photo of the article with his interview.

Arrested on Multiple Charges

On October 24, 2022, Al Najim was charged by the York Regional Police (YRP) with “Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Flight from Police; Weapons Dangerous” after an incident the day before outside of a local mosque

YRP issued a statement that said: “On Sunday, October 23, 2022, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers were at the scene of a protest at a mosque located at 7340 Bayview Avenue in Markham. At the end of the protest, a male suspect driving a white Kia SUV drove at a high rate of speed in the direction of a crowd of people. The accused stopped the vehicle abruptly, squealing the tires while yelling at the protestors.”

The YRP statement continued: “The Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the suspect fled from police. He was located a short time later and was arrested. When officers searched the vehicle, they located items including an airsoft gun, a baton and bear spray. He is facing additional weapons related charges as a result.”

On October 23, 2022, video of part of the incident was posted to Twitter.

On October 24, 2022, Al Najim said that he spent the night in YRP custody and was released that day.

Calling for Israel to Be Dismantled

On July 18, 2019, Al Najim tweeted: “#Israel is a terrorist illegal regime that must be dismantled and disarmed immediately. #Palestine will be FREE from the river to the sea.”

On March 5, 2020, Al Najim featured in a video, in which he said [00:01:36]: “We call for the dismantlement of the illegitimate Zionist regime. And we call on Canadian government officials to always condemn Israel.”

The video was taken at York University on November 20, 2019 during an organized anti-Israel protest in opposition to a panel featuring Reservists on Duty. The protest reportedly turned violentand was denounced by York’s president, as well as by Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario.

On June 20, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “...You know the shayatan [satanic] Zionist regime is falling down very soon.”

On May 7, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “From the land of Babylonia that dismantled the first Zionist regime and they are today moving towards dismantling the last Zionist regime…”

On April 22, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “...#israel has no right to exist…”

On February 5, 2022, Al Najim tweeted: “The Zionist illegitimate regime is going down.”

On March 13, 2022, Al Najim featured in a CD4HR Instagram video showing him leading a counter-protest at a pro-Israel rally.

In the video, Al Najim told [00:02:00] pro-Israel activists: “No negotiations, we’re dismantling Israel, that’s what’s happening.” He also said [00:04:16]: “One day all the Zionists are going to be prosecuted.”

Spreading Anti-Semitism

On May 24, 2020, Al Najim said [00:02:31] in a CD4HR YouTube video: “You have these few politicians that I can bring up by their names. Gila Martow, Michael Levitt, Roman Baber, James Pasternak, you know, these ones are Zionist Jews, and they’re extremists. And they’re more loyal, as I feel and I see from the world, to Israel than Canada.”

The term “dual loyalty” is an anti-Semitic slur alleging that Jews are more loyal to Israel than their own nations.

On June 4, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “Correction : Hands of the Zionist occupiers and criminals. The nazis fell and soon the Zionists will fall and just like the fall of the Berlin Wall the fall of the Jerusalem wall will fall. It’s all coming in it’s works.”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

On January 27, 2022, which is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Al Najim posted to TikTok: “#StopPalestinianHolocaust #holocaustmemorialday #freepalestine…”

Al Najim’s post included a video, where he said [00:00:01]: “On the Holocaust Remembrance Day, we want to talk about the Palestinian holocaust that’s happening every minute, and every hour inside the holy occupied land of Palestine that they call Israel.”

Supporting Hamas

On May 10, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “Hamas is a legitimate political party in gaza fighting the war criminals that continue to breach human rights, steal homes & trample on international laws…”

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

Also, on May 10, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “...Hamas has a legal right to assist their oppressed brothers & sisters. Hamas was democratically elected & the Zionist bullying lobbies will STOP.”

On September 24, 2020, Al Najim tweeted: “Israel is a pure terrorist illegitimate regime & Canada was bullied to enlist Hamas as a terrorist org by the Zionist lobbies and ones with political influence…”

Defending Hezbollah

On November 23, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “You are making a big mistake & your ugly description of this honourable group that liberated lebanon from the true terrorists, the Zionists/Israelis shows how biased you are. #hizballah secured Democracy in #Lebanon & has MP’s in the #Lebanese parliament. #PalestinewillbeFree ✌🏽.”

Hezbollah has long been known as an anti-Semitic and genocidal terror organization dedicated to destroying Israel.

On October 19, 2020, Al Najim tweeted: “Hezbollah has always been an anti terrorist army and democratically elected party in Lebanon’s democratic system…”

On January 4, 2020, Al Najim tweeted: “...please sign & share this petition to delist the #IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] Qods force & #Hizballah from the terrorist database in #Canada…”

The State Department of the United States has listed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. The IRGC has reportedly provided funding, training and weapons to other terror organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

Hatred of Zionists

On May 31, 2021, Al Najim tweeted: “The Zionist war criminal supporters get shaken when they hear the loud righteous voices shouting #FreeFreePalestine. We closed up the evil event and sealed it up in Toronto. #StandAgainstisrael always. #cdnpoli [Canadian politics] #Onpoli [Ontario politics]. 📦.”

Al Najim’s tweet included a video with text that said: “May 30 We closed up the Stand with israel event in Toronto with loud screams of Free Free Palestine.”

On May 8, 2021, Al Najim tweeted, referring to Canadian politician Jagmeet Singh: “...Jamgeet Singh…don’t be deterred or disrupted by the rich Zionist bullies that think they can bully any politician. They love war crimes & control & it’s a sad reality. #PalestinianLivesMatter #FreePalestine NOW.”

On May 6, 2019, Al Najim tweeted: “The #Zionist #Israeli snakes again spread their venom on the already oppressed nation of #Palestine…”

The tweet included a video of Al Najim holding a rattlesnake skull and saying: “Guys, guess what I found. I found the Zionist state right here, look this is a real rattlesnake. Look at it. Doesn't this look exactly like [then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and his crew? And the IDF war criminal, killers, murderers, massacres. Look at it, just look at it. Press TV is an Iranian state-owned media outlet. It has broadcast stories that spread antisemitic conspiracy theories and hosted Holocaust deniers on its programs. The outlet also reportedly broadcast an interview with David Duke, former head of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), where he blamed Zionists for the 9/11 attacks.

On October 25, 2020, Al Najim tweeted: “...I am not bds I work for #cd4hr but support bds to sanction the Zionist regime…”

On September 20, 2020, Al Najim tweeted: “Nothing about #israel is legitimate. We must all unite to liberate holy #OccupiedPalestine 🇵🇸. The land of Muhammad, Moses, Jesus & all free & caring people. #FreePalestine.”

Neturei Karta is an anti-Israel Jewish fringe group whose leader, Yisroel Dovid Weiss, was excommunicated from many Ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups for participating in a 2006 Holocaust denial conference in Iran. The group opposes Zionism on religious grounds and has called to dismantle Israel.

On May 6, 2019, Al Najim tweeted: “...#Zionism is a terror ideology that hijacked the name of #Judaism just like #ISIS [Islamic State of Iraq and Syria] claiming they are #islamic, both are hypocrites!” His tweet showed a photo of him and Neturei Karta members.

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
