Farah Helal
Farah Helal was the treasurer of a Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter that showed support for Hamas after the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel when Hamas terrorists murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis.
Farah Helal served as the treasurer of the SJP chapter (UMBC SJP) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in the 2023-2024 academic year. UMBC is located in Baltimore, Maryland.
In December 2020, Helal was a volunteer with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).
On April 15, 2022, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences of UMBC announced that Farah Helal had been appointed as a UMBC Student Regent for a two-year term, from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024.
Helal graduated with dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and global studies from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in May 2024.
As of October 2024, Helal’s LinkedIn profile said she planned to attend Teachers College, Columbia University, to pursue a master’s degree in international educational development in the Fall of 2025, after taking a year “to work…in Maryland and abroad.”
As of October 15, 2024, Helal’s LinkedIn said she was located in Ellicott City, Maryland.
