Dimitri Tsolakis
Dimitri Tsolakis promoted hatred of Israel and was an activist with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at American University (AU) (AU SJP) in October 2023.
Tsolakis’s activism took place during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war, called called “Swords of Iron,” after a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings.
The atrocities were executed on October 7, 2023, and left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.
As of April 2025, Tsolakis's LinkedIn profile said he worked as a freelance business consultant in Brooklyn, New York.
As of the same date, Tsolakis's LinkedIn said he graduated from AU with a bachelor's degree in international relations and affairs in 2024.
AU is located in Washington, D.C.
On October 2, 2023, Dimitri Tsolakis led an anti-Israel teach-in titled: "Environmental Justice in Palestine." The event was organized by SJP and took place on the AU campus.
During his presentation, Tsolakis reportedly said: "Environmental apartheid...refers to the Israelis’ systematic exploitation of the environment in Palestine...And the discriminatory systems by which Palestinians are dispossessed of their land, water and other natural resources."
On February 10, 2023, Tsolakis published an article in the AU Journal of International Service titled: "The Israeli Occupation Feeding Into The Sex Trafficking Crime Network." Tsolakis's article alleged that Israel's policies, including checkpoints and security barriers, heightened the risk of sex trafficking among Palestinians.
Israeli checkpoints were built to prevent terror attacks, such as suicide bombings, against Israel's civilian population.
Israel’s security barrier, 97 percent of which is a low chain-link barrier, was built as a deterrent to Palestinian terror attacks. The concrete portions of the fence were built in response to Palestinian sniper attacks.
In the article, Tsolakis also said: "Situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, Palestine has a long history of Arab rule. Scholars refer to the indigenous people who lived in the area as 'philistines...'"
One way anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is by denying [00:17:45] Jewish history, with the aim of delegitimizing restored Jewish sovereignty, attacking Israel’s legitimacy and portraying Jews as foreign to the Land of Israel.
SJP is the leading student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses. The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian, who has spread anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campus campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks and pushing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, and SJP chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for terrorists.
