David Duhalde
David Duhalde [David S. Duhalde] has celebrated violent criminals, expressed support for a domestic terrorist, promoted hatred of America and praised America's enemies as a leader of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The DSA has expressed support for terrorists.
Duhalde has also spread hatred of Israel and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
In 2019-2025, Duhalde served as the chair of the DSA fund board. He was a member of the DSA as early as 2006.
Given Duhalde’s leadership role in the DSA, he is part of DSA’s broader anti-America and anti-Israel network, which includes 2025 New York mayoral candidate and DSA member Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani's anti-America and far-left activist network, which includes the DSA, helped him win the 2025 Democratic Party primary. He won the general election in November 2025.
DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. Notable members are activist Linda Sarsour and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
As of August 2025, Duhalde's LinkedIn profile said he worked as a special projects coordinator at the Organization of Staff Analysts (OSA) and as a senior candidate services liaison for the New York City Campaign Finance Board (NYCCFB).
As of the same date, Duhalde's LinkedIn said he was located in Brooklyn, New York.
On January 20, 2025, Duhalde posted on X, celebrating the news that U.S. president Joe Biden commuted Leonard Peltier's life sentence.
Leonard Peltier was a member of the American Indian Movement (AIM) convicted of murdering two FBI agents in 1975. He was sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment. In 2025, outgoing U.S. president Joe Biden commuted his sentence to indefinite house arrest.
On July 7, 2023, Duhalde posted on X, glorifying Mutulu Shakur.
Mutulu Shakur, brother of Assata Shakur, was a Black Liberation Army (BLA) member convicted for his involvement in a 1981 Brinks robbery where two police officers and one Brinks security guard were murdered. He was also involved in the 1979 prison break of his sister and fellow BLA member Assata, who was jailed for the murder of a police officer in 1973.
On May 14, 2022, Duhalde posted on X: "Just finally finished this excellent book about Puerto Rican former political prison [sic] Oscar López Rivera. Very moving story about his principled resistance..."
Oscar Lopez Rivera was the leader of a Puerto Rican secret paramilitary group behind more than 130 bomb attacks in the U.S. He was tried by the U.S. government for multiple crimes, including seditious conspiracy, and sentenced to a total of 70 years in federal prison. In 2017, Rivera's sentence was commuted by then-U.S. president Barack Obama.
On March 10, 2016, Duhalde posted twice on X in defense of Assata Shakur.
Assata Shakur was convicted of killing a New Jersey state trooper and wounding another in 1973 while a member of the separatist Black Liberation Army (BLA). She escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba in 1984, where she resides today. She is listed on the FBI Most Wanted Terror List under her legal name, Joanne Deborah Chesimard.
On February 17, 2017, Duhalde posted on X, accusing U.S. Homeland Security of "Ethnic cleansing."
On September 11, 2021, Duhalde wrote an article for the DSA website, titled: "A Tale of Two September 11ths." In the article, Duhalde wrote: "As a socialist, I opposed the wars in Afghanistan and later Iraq on grounds of anti-imperialism."
On September 27, 2024, while Duhalde was the chair of the DSA fund board, the group posted on X: "...Biden, Harris, and Netanyahu are all war criminals. Until we win an arms embargo every action of the U.S. war machine must be disrupted."
On October 1, 2018, Duhalde posted on X: "It is the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
."
On October 22, 2020, while Duhalde was the chair of the DSA fund board, the group posted on X: "Russia is not the problem. China is not the problem. The problem is a global system of capitalism..."
On April 12, 2024, Duhalde posted on X: "...Using these anecdotes from Chinese revolutionary history, we adopted them [to] our own conditions in the US as young democratic socialists."
On November 2, 2024, DSA posted on X: "Cuba’s resilience is legendary, but the U.S. blockade’s toll is relentless...Join our campaign to stand with Cuba..."
On January 13, 2024, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists and their allies and while Duhalde was the chair of the DSA fund board, the group posted on X: "DSA demands an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities by the US against Yemen and an end to military support of Israel..."
Following the outbreak of Israel’s 2023 war against Hamas, Houthi terrorists attacked commercial ships off Yemen’s Red Sea coast and launched missiles into southern Israel. Like Hamas, the Houthi movement is backed by Iran, and is designated as a terror group by the United States, Saudi Arabia and other countries.
The Houthi slogan reads: “God is the Greatest / Death to America / Death to Israel / A Curse Upon the Jews / Victory to Islam.”
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.
For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
On October 9, 2023, two days after Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, DSA posted on Instagram a statement that said [slide 1]: "DSA is steadfast in expressing our solidarity with Palestine. / Today’s events are a direct result of Israel’s apartheid regime—a regime that receives billions in funding from the United States. / End the violence. End the Occupation. Free Palestine."
“Free Palestine” is a chant that has been described as a "battle cry for the death of Jews.” In May 2025, two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C., were murdered by a gunman shouting “Free Palestine!” In June 2025, one pro-Israel activist was killed and over 25 were injured in Boulder, Colorado, when a man yelling “Free Palestine” firebombed them.
The statement further read [slide 2], referring to Hamas' October 7, 2023 terror attack: "...This was not unprovoked. / For over 60 years, Palestinians have faced ethnic cleansing, torture, bombings, and housing demolitions. Gaza is still under a blockade."
Israel and Egypt implemented a UN-approved [pp. 39–41] joint blockade of the Gaza Strip in 2011 to stop Hamas from acquiring more sophisticated rockets. Hamas went around the blockade by smuggling weaponry through tunnels under the Philadelphi corridor separating Gaza from Egypt.
On December 8, 2017, DSA posted on X: "...Steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian resistance in their anti-colonial struggle and fight for self-determination ."
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
On May 13, 2021, during Israel's "Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW)" against Hamas in Gaza, Duhalde shared on X a DSA statement titled: "DSA Stands with Palestinians: from Sheikh Jarrah to Gaza and Beyond."
In May 2021, calls to “save” Sheikh Jarrah, a Jerusalem neighborhood at the center of a property dispute, led to violence against Israelis and were one of the leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza into Israel that month.
DSA's statement accused Israel of "ethnic cleansing of Palestinians everywhere" and "racist violence."
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 other countries have adopted the definition as well.
On March 11, 2024, while Duhalde was the chair of the DSA fund board, the group posted on X: "'For decades, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has been a hawkish, warmongering, and bullying force in U.S. politics.'"
The stated mission of AIPAC is to “strengthen, protect and promote the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance the security of the United States and Israel.”
The implication that AIPAC buys political support for Israel has been described as playing into “anti-Semitic tropes” that led to “centuries of stereotypes about Jews using money to control the world.”
On April 17, 2024, Duhalde posted on X, accusing Israel of committing "genocide" in its war against Hamas terrorists.
On May 27, 2024, Duhalde posted on X, referring to the "Squad" member Jamaal Bowman: "Voting yes because Bowman has moved on Palestine and it is critical to fight AIPAC together."
“The Squad” is an informal group of eight Democrats who are “well known for being among the most progressive and left-wing members of the United States Congress.” The Squad includes Rashida Tlaib, who is connected to six Hamas-linked activists, and Ilhan Omar, who has posted anti-Semitic tweets, demonized Israel and endorsed BDS.
In 2019-2025, Duhalde served as the chair of the DSA fund board. Previously, he was the deputy director of the DSA from August 2015 until December 2017. Duhalde has been a member of the DSA since 2006.
On July 24, 2024, while Duhalde was the chair of the DSA fund board, the group posted on X: "We're proud to join today's national mobilization in Washington DC to surround the Capitol and issue a notice of citizen's arrest to Benjamin Netanyahu for crimes against humanity! / The people of the world stand with Palestine and against the genocide committed by Israel with the full backing of the United States government."
On April 16, 2024, DSA posted on X, expressing support for Mamdani.
On September 19, 2020, DSA posted on X: "...We helped Zohran make history in Queens...A better world is possible!!"
On June 14, 2020, DSA posted on X: "Zohran is a...DSA candidate fighting to...defund the police & build a socialist NY. / He’s up against the Queens Machine & Albany establishment. / Help him out..."
Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is America’s largest socialist organization. Its core ideology includes anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Western and abolitionist elements.
Following the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks against Israel, DSA condemned Israel, expressed support for Hamas, endorsed anti-Israel rallies and called for members to engage in anti-Israel activism. It condemned Israeli retaliatory attacks against the IRGC and Hezbollah, as well as the U.S. attacks against the Houthi terror organization, whose slogan reads: "...Death to America / Death to Israel / A Curse upon the Jews...”
DSA first endorsed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in 2017 and it has also condemned sanctions against countries like Iran and Cuba.
The group endorses far-left politicians on the local, state and federal levels. DSA also promotes anti-Israel agitators, including DSA members Rashida Tlaib, Zohran Mamdani and Linda Sarsour.
Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), DSA’s youth section active in high schools and colleges, has co-organized anti-Israel protests across the U.S. since October 7, 2023, particularly the April 2024 pro-terror encampments on university campuses.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
