Aya Konishi participated in three anti-Israel events in Los Angeles, California, in 2023 and 2024.
The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas in Gaza.
As of July 2026, Aya Konishi's LinkedIn said she was studying for a PhD in sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), slated to graduate in June 2027.

It has been used to vandalize synagogues and other Jewish-owned property, and is described as a "battle cry for the death of Jews.”

Activists at the event held an IfNotNow (INN) banner that said: "JEWS SAY CEASEFIRE NOW! NO GENOCIDE IN OUR NAME."
The slogan "Not in Our Name" is used by anti-Zionist Jewish groups like Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) that reject Israel's existence. The slogan is meant to emphasize their opposition to Israeli policy and that Israel does not speak for them.
