Aidan Marcikic
Aidan Marcikic was reportedly arrested at a sit-in during the anti-Israel encampment at Illinois State University (ISU) in May 2024.
The Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at ISU (SJP-ISU) said on Instagram that it organized the encampment, which was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
On May 3, 2024, WGLT.org reported that seven individuals, including Aidan Marcikic, were arrested and charged with trespassing, and later “suspended and restricted from participating in university activities.”
Aidan Marcikic and the other activists had gathered outside the office of ISU’s president during the ISU encampment and refused to leave despite being given “multiple warnings about the ‘consequences for remaining’ past closing time.”
The encampment was part of a national movement on college campuses in 2024, during Israel’s war against Hamas. The encampments were also in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of December 2025, Aidan Marcikic's LinkedIn profile said he graduated from ISU with a bachelor's degree in psychology in May 2025 and was a recovery support coordinator at United Community Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. ISU is located in Normal, Illinois.
In December 2025, Aidan Marcikic's Instagram bio said: "...@isuydsa ideology peddler...," indicating Marcikic was an activist with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
DSA's ideology includes anti-American and abolitionist elements. DSA justified Hamas murdering 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023.
