On January 25, 2025, during Israel's war against Hamas, Abu Ali spoke as a Samidoun representative at an anti-Israel rally in Philadelphia.
In his speech, Abu Ali said [00:01:14]: "They're saying the resistance is making things worse. They're saying if the resistance put down their guns, everything would have ended. No way!"
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
At the January 2025 event, Abu Ali continued [00:01:24]: "If the resistance wasn't there behind every corner, under all the ruins, popping out of there and blowing up tanks, what would have happened?"
Abu Ali then said [00:01:35]: "We ought to focus on the resistance! All of us should be thanking Hamas! Should be thanking the [Palestinian] Islamic Jihad! Should be thanking the PFLP [Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine]! We should be explicit about that!"
Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) is a terror group “whose objective is the destruction of the State of Israel and the establishment of a sovereign, Islamic Palestinian state.” PIJ is backed by Iran and has killed dozens of Israelis in suicide bombings and other attacks.
The PFLP is dedicated to the violent destruction of Israel. It is designated as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) by the United States. The EU, Canada, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Australia and Israel also list it as a terror group due to its history of carrying out assassinations, suicide bombings, hijackings and multiple murders.
At the same January 2025 event, Abu Ali also said [00:05:16]: "The resistance is what's keeping Palestine alive! The resistance is what's making it, so that we're even out here today talking about it!"
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reported that, during the rally, protesters wore Hamas headbands and "displayed a Samidoun-branded banner that read: 'Long Live October 7th.'"
On January 15, 2024, Abu Ali spoke at a pro-terror rally titled: "From West Africa to West Philly to the West Bank, we shall set us free," in Philadelphia.
In his speech, Abu Ali said that "resistance is key to the struggle."
Protesters held Samidoun signs that read: "Freedom for Ahmad Sa’adat."
