Abdallah Junio Mansour

Overview

Abdallah Junio Mansour has spread anti-Semitism, expressed support for Hamas and idolized terrorist leader Yasser Arafat. He has also glorified other terrorists, spread incitement, as well as hatred of Israel and promoted the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In March 2019, Mansour was listed on a University of South Florida (USF) web page as the Vice President of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) from January 31 to May 17, 2019.

As of November 2019, his Instagram page bio said: “USF.” Also as of July 2019, his Facebook page said he “Studies” at Hillsborough Community College (HCC) and has been there from “2015 to present.”

Also as of November 2019, Mansour’s Facebook page said he has been an agent at Primerica Financial Services, Inc. in Tampa, Florida since 2015.

Spreading Anti-Semitism

On March 28, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a graphic featuring a fabricated quote from Albert Einstein that read: “It would be my greatest sadness to see Zionists (Jews) do to Palestinian Arabs much of what Nazis did to Jews.”

On March 19, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a cartoon implying that Jewish roots in the Land of Israel are weak.

The cartoon showed an Orthodox Jew with an assault rifle fleeing from a Palestinian boy with a slingshot. Their feet were depicted as roots, with the Jew’s roots snapping from the ground at the sight of the Palestinian boy who had strong, deep roots.

On March 5, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a graphic that equated Israel with Nazi Germany. Text in the graphic said: “Why is it when... the Nazis occupied France, the French Resistance were called ‘Freedom Fighters’ but when…the Israelis occupy Palestine, the Palestinian resistance are called ‘Terrorists?’”

On March 1, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a photo of Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan with a quote: “[Israel] have no conscience, no honour, no pride. They curse Hitler day and night, but they have surpassed Hitler in barbarism.”

That same day, Mansour posted to Facebook a graphic equating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with Adolf Hitler. The image also depicted the U.S. as the grim reaper protecting both Netanyahu and Hitler. Behind Netanyahu and Hitler was King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.

Also on March 1, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a graphic equating Israelis with neo-Nazis. On the left was a caricature protraying a neo-Nazi labeled “Holocaust Denier,” saying: “There was no Holocaust, no gas chambers and Germany had no program of genocide.”

On the right was a caricature of an Orthodox Jew with an assault rifle, labeled “Palestine Denier,” saying: “There is no Palestine, no Palestinian culture and no Palestinian people!”

On March 1, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a graphic suggesting that Israel controls America. The image showed a girl portraying Israel, raising her hand to get a dog, portraying America, to stand on its hind legs and eat from her hand.

That same day, Mansour posted to Facebook a meme incorporating imagery associated with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories of Jewish control over America.

The meme showed a character known as the “Sun Demon,” which is often equated with “Lucifer.” Behind the demon’s head was a pyramid with an eye at the top, imagery that is associated with “Freemasonry” and “Illuminati” conspiracy theories, which allege that these institutions are run by Jews and control society.

The meme also portrays the demon controlling the Republican and Democratic parties, the U.S. Congress, bankers, as well as large corporations and the media.

Supporting Hamas

On May 15, 2017, Mansour shared to Facebook video from the Hamas-Affiliated Shebab News Agency that glorified [00:03:07] Hamas terrorists.

On May 16, 2017, Mansour shared a Facebook video supporting terrorists in Israeli jail, including Ibrahim Hamed.

Ibrahim Hamed is a Hamas leader who was involved in multiple suicide bombings from 2001 through 2003 that killed 46 Israelis and injured over 400. He was sentenced to 54 life sentences in 2012.

On March 25, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a graphic of Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, along with Yasser Arafat. The image said, in Arabic: “We knew who killed them and we know who’s killing their dream today.”

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin has been described as the “mastermind of Palestinian terror” behind many suicide bombings against Israeli civilians on buses and in cafes during the second intifada. In January 2003, Yassin said in an interview: “Suicide attacks and jihad reinforce national unity in the ranks…Our voice is one of struggle, of jihad and of suicide…”

Idolizing Yasser Arafat

On December 31, 2017, Mansour posted a Facebook photo showing Yasser Arafat and celebrating the 53rd anniversary of Arafat’s Fatah party.

Yasser Arafat was the former leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and is known by some as the “father of modern terrorism.” Arafat reportedly told Arab diplomats in a secret meeting in 1996: "We will make life unbearable for Jews by psychological warfare and population explosion. Jews will not want to live among Arabs. I have no use for Jews. They are and remain Jews."

On August 5, 2017, Mansour shared a video on Facebook honoring Arafat. The video began [00:00:01] with Arafat saying in English: “To carry our arms and to fight…You see, we are aiming to establish our Arab Palestinian state.”

On November 10, 2016, Mansour posted Facebook an image with three photos of Yasser Arafat. Mansour wrote: “Unfortunately we can not go back in time, but let's at least do something with the message he has left behind.”

Glorifying Terrorists

On July 9, 2017, Mansour shared to Facebook an AJ+ video honoring Ghassan Kanafani.

Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.

On June 21, 2017, Mansour shared a Facebook post glorifying Kanafani.

On May 27, 2017, Mansour shared a Facebook post supporting terrorists Marwan Barghouti and PFLP Secretary General Ahmad Sa’adat. The post used the hashtag: “#اضراب_الكرامة [#Dignity_Strike].”

“Dignity Strike” refers to a hunger strike initiated by Marwan Barghouti on April 16, 2017. More than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners participated in the strike – most them also convicted for acts of terrorism. Barghouti headed the Palestinian Authority (PA) terrorist Tanzim force and founded the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. He was sentenced to five consecutive life terms by an Israeli civilian court for some of his crimes, including his role in the Sbarro Cafe bombing

On May 16, 2017, Mansour posted a Facebook photo of himself wearing a T-shirt that showed hands in handcuffs and said in Arabic: “#Water_and_Salt.” The hashtag referred to the “Saltwater Challenge” which was performed in solidarity with the prisoners.

On April 26, 2017, Mansour posted a photo of himself to Facebook with a frame promoting the Dignity Strike, in Arabic.

On March 25, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a photo of a mural honoring Fadi Aloon and Muhannad Halabi, who both carried out stabbing attacks during the 2015 Knife Intifada. Halabi killed two Israelis and injured two others, while Aloon stabbed a 15-year-old Israeli boy.

In October 2015, there was an upsurge in violence across Israel incited by Palestinian political and religious leaders. The wave of stabbings, known as the “Knife Intifada,” was characterized by young Palestinians throughout the country stabbing and attempting to stab Israeli civilians. The attacks were incited by Palestinian leaders propagating the libel that Israel intended to desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Spreading Incitement

On March 22, 2016, Mansour posted a Facebook photo that said: “THIRD INTIFADA” and showed the Al-Aqsa mosque on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, along with a man firing a slingshot and another man with a keffiyeh masking his face.

Since the early 2000s, the term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” has carried the connotation of violence.

The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda served as the excuse for an upsurge in Palestinian violence that flared in the fall of 2015 and incited Palestinians to attempt mass casualty attacks on Israeli civilians in July 2016..

On July 21, 2017, a week after terrorists ambushed and killed two Israeli policemen on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, Mansour shared a Facebook video that glorified [00:00:30] the rioting and called [00:01:03] for “intifada” for the Al Aqsa Mosque.

The video featured [00:01:14] Palestinian men throwing Molotov cocktails, firing slingshots and throwing rocks.

Terrorists murdered two Israeli police officers on July 14, 2017, outside the entrance to the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Israel responded by installing metal detectors and security checks at the entrance to the holy site.

The terrorists reportedly feared that “Al Aqsa is in danger,” which has long been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the State of Israel’s existence. Following rioting and further violence, the Israeli government removed the metal detectors on July 25, 2017.

On December 9, 2017, Mansour updated his Facebook cover photo to a graphic of a masked Palestinian man kneeling in front of the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. In the man’s hand was a sword shaped like a key, representing what is known as the “right of return.”

The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel.

Spreading Hatred of Israel

On March 2, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a graphic known as the “Map That Lies.” He posted the same map twice later that month.

The maps claim that lands once controlled by Britain, Egypt and Jordan as autonomous “Palestinian land” were purportedly stolen by Israel. In February 2016, publisher McGraw-Hill Education recalled copies of a college textbook containing the fraudulent maps. In October 2015, American cable news network MSNBC apologized for airing a similar series of maps and retracted them.

On March 1, 2016, Mansour posted to Facebook a meme calling to “Relocate Israel into United States.” Among the reasons given was: “Israel can have a real safe Jewish state surrounded by friendly states.”

On March 1, 2016, Mansour posted a Facebook image titled: “4 THINGS EVERYONE HATES” that showed an Israeli flag and graphics showing low battery, low wifi signal and a page loading.

Promoting BDS

On July 3, 2017, Mansour shared a Facebook video promoting a BDS campaign held that year at USF.

On March 17, 2017, Mansour shared a Facebook video from the anti-Israel organization Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), promoting the BDS movement, that accused [00:00:07] Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and [00:00:50] “apartheid.”

SJP USF - Leaders Idolizing Terrorists and Spreading Anti-Semitism

In March 2019, SJP USF officers included vice president Abdallah Junio Mansour, who has a history of spreading anti-Semitism on Facebook and secretary Salman Shalan

Mansour and Shalan have both expressed support for Hamas operatives, as well as other terrorists and idolized terrorist Yasser Arafat.

SJP USF - Supporting Violent Riots

On April 11, 2018, SJP USF posted an Instagram photo for an April 14, 2018 rally it co-sponsored in downtown Tampa, FL. The rally was in support of “The Great Return March” riots that had begun two weeks earlier, in Gaza.

On March 30, 2018, some 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza approached Israel’s border to take part in “Land Day Protests” or the “March of Return.” The violent demonstrations were instigated by Hamas on the Israeli-Gaza border. Participants declared their intention to harm Jews across the border under the pretext of “peaceful resistance.”

March participants sent scores of kites bearing explosive devices across Israel’s border to burn Israeli crops and homes. Rioters also made numerous attempts to breach Israel’s border fence, which caused the Israeli Defense Forces to respond with live fire.

Agitators also threw Molotov cocktails, firebombs, shot firearms and threw rocks under the cover of smoke from burning tires.

On May 14, 2018, SJP USF posted on Instagram: “52 Palestinians have been killed on the border of Gaza by Israeli snippers [sic] as the US embassy opens in Jerusalem.”

On May 16, 2018, senior Hamas official, Salah al-Bardawil, stated that 50 out of 62 protesters killed during the May 14 Gaza border protest were Hamas operatives. Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) also claimed that three of its members were killed at the same protest.

On October 27, 2018, SJP USF claimed on Instagram: “For over six months the people of Gaza have been peacefully protesting at the border …”

In April 2018, media reports confirmed [00:00:20] the March of Return protesters’ breaches and attempted breaches of Israel’s border fence, some by armed Palestinians. One Hamas leader declared [00:00:30]: “We will take down the border [with Israel] and we will tear out their hearts from their bodies.”

In May 2018, terror group Hamas instigated violent riots on the Israeli-Gaza border. Thousands of rioters attempted to breach Israel’s border fence, declaring their intention to harm Jews across the border under the pretext of “peaceful resistance.”

March participants sent scores of kites bearing explosive devices across Israel’s border to burn Israeli crops and homes. Agitators also threw Molotov cocktails, firebombs, shot firearms and hurled stones under the cover of smoke from burning tires.

SJP USF - Demonizing Israel

On February 22, 2019, SJP USF posted an Instagram image promoting its event featuring Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) board member Eran Efrati. The SJP USF image quoted Efrati as saying that as an Israeli soldier, he was “the terrorist.”

On February 6, 2019, SJP USF posted an Instagram image promoting BDS and accusing Israel of“settler colonialism” and “apartheid.” The image called for a boycott of a performance by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) in Sarasota, Florida.

On October 8, 2018, SJP USF posted an Instagram video of its activists making a display portraying Israel’s security barrier as an “Apartheid Wall.” The display promoted BDS and was for an event on campus the next day.

On January 6, 2019, SJP USF posted an Instagram image claiming that Israel simultaneously will “play the victim” and “commit war crimes.”

On September 7, 2018, SJP USF posted on Instagram that Israel has a “genocidal, ethnic cleansing project.”

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
