Neda Atanasoski

Neda Atanasoski signed an open letter in April 2024 that spread hatred of Israel. The letter claimed Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists was a “genocidal campaign.”

The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas.

The letter Neda Atanasoski signed was in support of the anti-Israel encampment at George Washington University (GW) in Washington, D.C., where students and outside activists reportedly called for Israel’s destruction. Local media said that 33 protesters were arrested, at least six of whom were GW students. Seven GW students were suspended.

Nearly 200 anti-Israel college encampments were set up in North America in spring 2024. Activists harassed Jews with antisemitic slurs, expressed their support [00:02:45] for Hamas terrorism and called [00:04:45] for Israel's destruction. They blocked Jews from campus facilities and limited access to those with special wristbands or who said they weren't a Zionist.

The GW encampment was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of May 2026, Neda Atanasoski was listed as a professor and chair of the Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Maryland (UMD). UMD is located in College Park, Maryland.
