Jeffrey Sachs
Jeffrey Sachs is a professor who expressed support for terrorism, spread anti-Israel conspiracy theories and demonized Israel in the wake of Israel's war against Hamas after its October 7, 2023 terror attacks on Israel.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 251 and wounded thousands. War crimes included various systematic sexual crimes like gang rape and genital mutilation. Men and women were violated, even after being murdered. Victims who survived that day, including hostages, endured forms of humiliation and torture.
Gazans working in the targeted Israeli villages provided intelligence to Hamas on which families to kill and torture, including long-time employers. Many Palestinian civilians joined in and celebrated the attacks. Hamas livestreamed their crimes on social media, including to victims’ accounts for families to see. In January 2025, Jeffrey Sachs was listed as a professor of sustainable development at Columbia University (Columbia). Columbia is located in New York, New York.
Sachs served as the director of the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) since 2016, as well as the director of the Columbia Climate School Earth Institute from 2002 through 2016.
Sachs also served as president of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) since 2019, headquartered in New York, New York.
Sachs's LinkedIn profile said that he served as special advisor to the UN Secretaries General from 2002 through 2018, and served as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) advocate for UN Secretary Guterres since 2018.
Sachs's received a PhD in economics from Harvard University (Harvard) in 1980, and graduated with a master's in economics from Harvard in 1978.
