Jeffrey Sachs

Jeffrey Sachs is a professor who expressed support for terrorism, spread anti-Israel conspiracy theories and demonized Israel in the wake of Israel's war against Hamas after its October 7, 2023 terror attacks on Israel.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 251 and wounded thousands. War crimes included various systematic sexual crimes like gang rape and genital mutilation. Men and women were violated, even after being murdered. Victims who survived that day, including hostages, endured forms of humiliation and torture.

Gazans working in the targeted Israeli villages provided intelligence to Hamas on which families to kill and torture, including long-time employers. Many Palestinian civilians joined in and celebrated the attacks. Hamas livestreamed their crimes on social media, including to victims’ accounts for families to see. In January 2025, Jeffrey Sachs was listed as a professor of sustainable development at Columbia University (Columbia). Columbia is located in New York, New York.

Sachs served as the director of the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) since 2016, as well as the director of the Columbia Climate School Earth Institute from 2002 through 2016.

Sachs also served as president of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) since 2019, headquartered in New York, New York.

Sachs's LinkedIn profile said that he served as special advisor to the UN Secretaries General from 2002 through 2018, and served as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) advocate for UN Secretary Guterres since 2018.

Sachs's received a PhD in economics from Harvard University (Harvard) in 1980, and graduated with a master's in economics from Harvard in 1978.

As of January 2025, Sachs's LinkedIn said he was located in New York, New York.

On March 2, 2024, TRT World posted on YouTube an interview with Sachs in which he said [00:00:27]: "The U.S. is in the hands of the powerful lobby which has supported Israel no matter what Israel is doing."

The “Israel Lobby” is a conspiracy theory alleging Israeli and Jewish control over the U.S. government. Proponents of the theory decry the negative effects on American interests, particularly in foreign policy.

On October 1, 2024, a user posted on X: "Prof. Jeffrey Sachs killed Benjamin Netanyahu." Included in the post was a video clip of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu giving a speech, saying: "...There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel can't reach..." to which Sachs responded [00:00:35]: "...I have a message for the long arm of Mr. Netanyahu...it's the U.S. Air Force, it's the U.S. military, it's the U.S. Navy; it's not you, Netanyahu. It's the United States..." Sachs continued [00:01:04]: "...the Israel lobby has manipulated our [American] politics long enough..."

On November 19, 2024, Sachs appeared again on the "Judging Freedom" YouTube channel in a video titled: "Netanyahu: the Puppet Master of US Wars," in which Sachs said[00:00:03]: "The U.S. has been fighting Israel's wars for decades..."

On December 3, 2024, British media personality Piers Morgan posted on his "Piers Morgan Uncensored" YouTube channel, an interview with Sachs. The program was titled: "'WHY Are We Doing Netanyahu's Bidding?' Jeffrey Sachs on Syria, Assad & Putin."

Referring to the fall of Syria's dictator Bashar al-Assad, Sachs said [00:02:39], : "This is a US-Israel-Turkey operation. It is part of Netanyahu's long-term game plan that goes on for 30 years to overthrow governments throughout the Middle East that back the Palestinian cause..."

Sachs then said [00:04:17]: "This is essentially at the core a Netanyahu operation."

Sachs continued [00:05:18]: "You can always find major powers behind these wars and in the case of Syria it was Obama in 2011 who tasked the CIA [Central Intelligence Agency] to work with the Saudis at the time and with Turkey at the time to overthrow Assad. This was at Israel's behest, in my understanding and interpretation."

Later, Sachs said [00:08:54]: "Systematically, the United States has done Netanyahu's bidding for almost 30 years now..."

Sachs concluded [00:10:37], referring to the Middle East's wars in the last decades: "What we're watching is this crazy Netanyahu idea of regional war, so that Israel can have its 'Greater Israel,' as they call it."

“Greater Israel” is a conspiracy theory which claims that Israel plans to expand its territory to encompass most of the Middle East and chunks of North Africa.
