Alaa Shanbour
Alaa Shanbour participated in an anti-Israel event at Stanford University (Stanford) in February 2024.
The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.
As of August 2025, Alaa Shanbour was listed as a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine (Stanford Medicine).

Activists held signs made by the organizers that said: "RESISTANCE IS JUSTIFIED / WHEN PEOPLE ARE OCCUPIED!" and "RESISTANCE AGAINST OCCUPATION IS A HUMAN RIGHT!"
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and antisemitic violence.
The event was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. The outcome of the movement's goals would result in Israel's destruction. Within hours of the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, the BDS movement renewed its call for an anti-Israel boycott.
