Zeena Mohamed was arrested at a pro-Hamas encampment at the University of Georgia (UGA) during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks.

Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds more that day. For more, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.

On April 29, 2024, Zeena Mohamed was arrested for “misdemeanor criminal trespass” at the encampment, which was part of a national movement on college campuses during Israel’s war against Hamas. The encampments were in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of May 2025, Zeena Mohamed's LinkedIn profile said she had worked as a policy intern for CAIR-Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia, since January 2025, and that she worked as a canvasser for Asian Americans Advancing Justice in Atlanta since March 2025.

On October 20, 2023, The Red and Black news site quoted Zeena Mohamed at an event titled: "Night of Rememberance," which was hosted by the UGA chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

In the article, Mohamed said: "I think it's very easy to become desensitized to numerous victims of apartheid and genocide, and feel as if Palestinian liberation is unattainable...all of us being here and being able to understand our interconnected struggle proves that this movement is going forward. And a free Palestine is near.”

As of March 2025, Mohamed's LinkedIn said she was located in Athens, Georgia, which is where UGA is located.
