Umema Siddiqui reportedly signed an anti-Israel statement in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

The January 15, 2024 statement Umema Siddiqui signed accused Israel of an “ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza” as well as “apartheid [and] ethnic cleansing,” during its war against Hamas.

Signatories were affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY), and the statement sought to develop “a SUNY-wide Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Movement…at all 64 SUNY campuses.”

As of March 2026, Umema Siddiqui's LinkedIn said she studied biochemistry at Stony Brook University (SBU) from 2020 to 2024. SBU is part of SUNY and is located in Stony Brook, New York.

Also as of March 2026, Umema Siddiqui's LinkedIn said she was working part-time as a pharmacy technician at CVS Health.
