Symone Lennon
Symone Lennon expressed support for Hamas terrorism, participated in a campaign targeting a pro-Israel Jewish philanthropist and spread hatred of Zionists during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists, launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks.
Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped hundreds more that day. For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
Lennon is a supporter [slide 90] of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of January 2025, Lennon was affiliated with the anti-Israel campus group Palestine Solidarity Collective (PSC) chapter at York University (York) (PSC York). PSC is an alternative name for Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).
In 2024, Lennon was an organizer [slide 45] with the anti-Israel group Scarborough for Palestine.
As of March 2025, Lennon's LinkedIn profile said she worked as s a policy and programs assistant at the Ontario Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport.
Also as of March 2025, Lennon's LinkedIn said she was studying for a bachelor's degree in political science and government at York, slated to graduate in 2025.
As of the same date, Lennon's LinkedIn said she was located in the Greater Toronto area, Ontario, Canada.
As of March 2025, Lennon's Linktree included a document by the pro-terror activist group Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), titled: "All the Walls Will Fall: 2023 Palestine Liberation Resource List."
The introduction said: "What the mainstream English-language media refers to as the ‘Gaza-Israel’ war is in reality the struggle of a colonized people for liberation. This struggle did not begin on October 7th, when Palestinians tore down the cement walls caging them in the Gaza strip..."
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.
For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
The PYM document Lennon linked to also said: "The Palestinian struggle...will remain ongoing until the siege is broken, until all prisoners are freed, until Palestine is liberated from the river to the sea, and until all refugees have returned home. The steadfast Palestinian people of Gaza...are correcting the path of history, and showing the world that, indeed, all the walls will fall."
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
The document included: "resources on the theory and logic of resistance to Zionist colonialism, including the objectives of returning home and liberating colonized lands, the capture of prisoners of war in order to free Palestinian prisoners, and the right of an occupied people to resist..."
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
On October 7, 2024, Lennon shared [slide 64] on Instagram: "palestinians are reminding us that decolonization is not abstract...it is violent...and it is the only way forward, and it is the only path of life."
On January 26, 2024, Lennon shared [slide 31] on Instagram Story Highlights a reel posted by an anti-Israel agitator who said: "The Palestinian resistance has succeeded in taking down military targets, destabilizing Israel's economy and land back, which includes 400,000 colonizers leaving stolen land..."
One way that anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is to claim [00:06:46] that Jews, particularly Ashkenazi Jews, do not descend from the ancient Israelites. This claim alleges that Jews are white Europeans who lack a connection to the Land of Israel.
In the same reel, the anti-Israel agitator also said [00:00:43]: "This is a liberation movement from a genocidal settler-colonial project...it is absolutely not your place to condemn the Palestinian resistance, whether they be armed resistance or journalist or children throwing rocks..."
Although romanticized as a form of “popular resistance,” rock throwing remains a deadly form of violence.
On December 25, 2024, Lennon was featured [00:00:09] in an Instagram video, promoting [00:00:20] a boycott of the Indigo bookstore.
In the video, Lennon spoke at a protest, where she read a letter to Santa Claus, saying [00:02:09]: "Dear Indigo, my Christmas wish this year is to finally see HESEG [a pro-Israel charity established by Indigo's owner] on the only list that matters..." Another protester dressed up as Santa Claus continued [00:02:16]: "...the list of the Canadian charities that have had their status revoked." Lennon concluded [00:02:20]: "Free Palestine, S. Claus."
In November 2023, during Israel's war against the Hamas terror group, 11 anti-Israel agitators were arrested after vandalizing a branch of the Indigo bookstore in Toronto, Ontario. Agitators defaced the building with red paint and plastered posters accusing Indigo's Jewish founder and pro-Israel philanthropist, Heather Reisman, of "funding genocide."
Police charged the suspects with "hate-motivated mischief," "conspiracy to commit an indictable offense" and "criminal harassment," reporting that they “engaged in threatening conduct that caused a person to reasonably fear for their personal safety.”
Indigo Books & Music is a chain with branches across Canada.
On November 21, 2023, Lennon posted [slide 40] on Instagram Story Highlights: "...Zionists are not human...Zionism is colonialism. Zionism is blood thirsty. Zionism is corrosive. Zionism is violence. / The people of Palestinian [sic] are immensely strong and I will always stand in solidarity! Long live resistance! Palestine will be free!"
SJP is the leading student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses. The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian, who has spread anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campus campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks and pushing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, and SJP chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for terrorists.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
