Sarah DeBolt Badawi

Sarah DeBolt Badawi is an educator who expressed support for Hamas and spread hatred of Israel.

Sarah DeBolt Badawi is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Badawi’s social media posts occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, called “Swords of Iron.” Israel launched the war after a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. The terror attacks left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.

As of December 2024, Badawi’s LinkedIn profile said she was a “Student support professional | Social studies educator | Curriculum writer.”

Her LinkedIn also said she has been working as a freelance consultant curriculum writer for the Fellowship of Reconciliation since March 2021 and was a member of the PBS [Public Broadcasting Service] NewsHour Classroom's Teacher Advisory Board since September 2022.

As of December 16 2024, Badawi’s LinkedIn also said she was employed full-time as the “Upper School Dean of Learning Support” at Hawken School, in Gates Mills, Ohio, since August 2023.

However, on May 24, 2024, the Cleveland Jewish News reported that Badawi resigned from the Hawken School after the school became aware of her social media posts regarding the Israel-Hamas war.”

Between January 2016 and June 2017, DeBolt Badawi taught in Amman, Jordan.

Badawi graduated from Boston College (BD) with a master’s degree in history in 2003. Boston College is located in Newton, Massachusetts.

Also as of December 2024, Badawi’s X account said she was located in Akron, Ohio.

According to public records databases, Sarah DeBolt Badawi has shared residences with Palestinian-American journalist Samer Badawi, who writes for various media including Al Jazeera English.
