Salam Jabaieh

Salam Jabaieh [Salam J. Jabaieh] was arrested at a pro-Hamas encampment at Arizona State University (ASU) during Israel’s war against Hamas. Israel launched the war after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks.

Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds more that day. For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.

On April 27, 2024, Salam Jabaieh was arrested for third-degree criminal trespass at the ASU encampment.

The encampment was part of a national movement on college campuses during Israel’s war against Hamas. The encampments were also in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

On April 30, 2024, Salam Jabaieh was listed as one of the 20 plaintiffs in a lawsuit against ASU. The plaintiffs were suspended by the school following their arrest at the unlawful pro-Hamas encampment. They were also “not permitted back on ASU campus grounds” and were “prohibited from communicating with any ASU faculty or staff.”

As of March 2025, Salam Jabaieh was listed online as a senior at ASU studying for a bachelor's degree in justice studies.

As of the same date, Salam Jabaieh was listed as working as an intern at The Family & Youth Institute (FYI).
