Sabry Wazwaz has spread religious incitement, promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, spread hatred of Israel, called for intifada, spread anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, demonized Israel, promoted incitement and expressed support for a terrorist.

Wazwaz has also compared Zionists to Nazis and tokenized anti-Israel Jews. He has spread anti-American and anti-Israel conspiracy theories and called for the destruction of Israel and the United States.

Wazwaz has featured in anti-Israel events on university campuses hosted by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), and spoke at a high school event held by American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) supporting the “right of return.”

He has been a speaker and “rally chants leader” at various anti-Israel rallies including two organized by Al-Awda — The Palestine Right to Return Coalition.

Wazwaz is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement and has promoted anti-Israel agitators and as well as propagandist Mads Gilbert.

Religious Incitement

On June 19, 2015, Wazwaz tweeted an image of masked warriors with long swords charging from the Al Aqsa mosque and Dome of the Rock, both on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. He wrote: “#HandsOffAlAqsa #WakeUpMuslims Al Aqsa belongs to all Muslims, not Palestinians  ... #SaveTheHolyLand #FreePalestine.”

On November 7, 2014, Wazwaz tweeted: “Israel is testing muslims response while they attack AL Aqsa daily... Wake Up Muslims. Right now their laughing their asses off at us.”

The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda served as the excuse for an upsurge in Palestinian violence that flared in the fall of 2015 and incited Palestinians to attempt mass casualty attacks on Israeli civilians in July 2016..

On January 24, 2015, Wazwaz wrote multiple anti-Israel hashtags in an Instagram post, including “#HandsOffAlAqsa.” He then quoted a well-known anti-Israel song, writing: “This is for Palestine, Ramallah, West Bank, Gaza - it's about time you globalize the Intifada.”

Since the early 2000s, the term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” has carried the connotation of violence.

Anti-Semitism

On December 11, 2015, Wazwaz wrote a post on Instagram claiming that the Jewish Talmud “preaches Jews can kill any non Jew and it is as if he only killed an animal. It preaches all non Jews are to serve their Jewish Masters and we are only wild beasts.”

Wazwaz continued, writing that “Torah forbids Israel to be a state and that's why the Real Jews are fighting with us to stop the Apartheid Racist State of Israel. Zionists go out of their way to hide the book of Talmud. It does not want anyone to ever find out about it. Plz educate yourselves so we educate others about the Bloodshed it preaches.”

His Instagram post included a photo of members of the Neturei Karta sect, who he referred to as “real Jews.”

Neturei Karta is an anti-Israel Jewish fringe group whose leader, Yisroel Dovid Weiss, was excommunicated from many Ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups for participating in a 2006 Holocaust denial conference in Iran. The group opposes Zionism on religious grounds and has called to dismantle Israel.

Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories

On July 23, 2017, Wazwaz wrote a post on Instagram claiming that Israel steals Palestinians’ “corpses so you can steal their organs.”

Wazwaz has repeatedly tweeted conspiracy theories that Zionists and Zionist Jews “own,” “control” and “hijack” America.

At anti-Israel rallies in July and September 2014 Wazwaz led [00:00:33] the crowd in chants including [00:01:05] “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

The slogan "Free Palestine" is often heard alongside “From the river to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” — a genocidal chant used by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal and others to call for the replacement of Israel with an Arab Islamic state.

On September 21, 2014, Wazwaz tweeted a photo of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion with a fabricated quote that read: “We will expel the Arabs and take their place. In each attack a decisive blow should be struck resulting in the destruction of homes and the expulsion of the population.”

In 2017 and 2015 Wazwaz attended solidarity rallies for terrorist Rasmea Odeh. Wazwaz has expressed support for Odeh on Twitter and Instagram, as well as Facebook.

Odeh was a key military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a PFLP supermarket bombing that killed two college students. She also attempted to bomb the British consulate in Jerusalem. Odeh later moved to the United States but was deported to Jordan in 2017 for immigration fraud.

That's exactly what Zionists are. Zionists are not real Jews. They are nothing buy [sic] a bunch of Racists who believe it is ok to live on stolen land which belongs to Palestinians who were kicked out from their homelands by Zionist Thugs.

Wazwaz has also tweeted images depicting Netanyahu as Hitler and referring to Netanyahu as “Hitler’s grandson,” “the Nazi of Tel Aviv,” and “Hitleryahu.”

On November 7, 2014, Wazwaz tweeted a photo of Netanyahu dressed as Hitler and giving a Nazi salute with a large Nazi flag and swastika in the background. Wazwaz wrote: “Evil is still around & it's called Zionism, occupying a people while also trying to take their lands #ZionismIsEvil.”

Al Awda Anti-Israel Activism

On January 29, 2017, anti-Semitic activist Robert Martin announced in a Facebook post that Wazwaz would be a speaker and “rally chants leader” at a rally organized by  Al-Awda.

The rally, in Washington, D.C. demonized the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and featured speakers such as Al-Awda co-founder Abbas Hamideh, who has spread anti-Semitism on Twitter

The rally’s Facebook page accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and demanded: “End the illegal occupation of Palestine from the River to the Sea!” The chant “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” — which Hamideh confirmed [00:02:52] as a call to eliminate Israel — was a constant refrain [00:15:27] at the rally.

Another speaker at the rally was Ryan Dawson — a denier [00:00:54] of Nazi gas chambers, as well as anti-Israel activist Miko Peled.

On December 22, 2015, Wazwaz tweeted “Mark your calendar #ProtestAipac #RallyForPalestine in DC on March 20, 2016 organized by Al Awda @Resistance48.”

He wrote: “Its time you know who the real Wonder Woman is.. Her name is Ahed Tamimi while Gal Gadot is nothing but a supporter of Racism, Bigotry, and Apartheid.”

Ahed Tamimi has a long history of physically attacking Israeli soldiers. Tamimi is the daughter of Bassem Tamimi, who is known for exploiting young children as political props in staged confrontations with Israeli soldiers.

On November 13, 2016, Wazwaz promoted an event on Twitter featuring Iyad Burnat.

On March 20, 2016, he tweeted a photo of himself with Burnat at an Al Awda anti-AIPAC rally.

Iyad Burnat is the coordinator of the Bil’in popular resistance committee, organizing weekly, often violent demonstrations against the Israeli security barrier since 2005. Burnat has repeatedly equated Israel with Hitler and ISIS. He has also claimed that Zionism is a “racist ideology” and accused “Zionists” of controlling American politics.

Promoting a Propagandist

On December 15, 2015, Wazwaz tweeted regarding anti-Israel propagandist Mads Gilbert that he “has more courage than the entire IDF.”

Gilbert has been banned indefinitely from entering Gaza through Israel because of his connections to the Hamas leadership.

In 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2014 Gilbert was stationed at a hospital that served as a Hamas command center and rocket launching site. During that time he acted as a propagandist for the Hamas government in Gaza.

In 2001, following al Qaeda's September 11 terrorist attacks, Gilbert expressed support for the terror acts as a “legitimate response.” In December of 2009, Gilbert was accused of faking resuscitation on a dead child in Gaza for dramatic effect for a CNN video.

On June 2, 2015, Wazwaz tweeted a photo of himself with Gilbert, writing: “With the Great @DrGilbert  a true Inspiration.”

On August 4, 2014, Wazwaz posted on Facebook an image of Gilbert and wrote “Dear Mr. MADS GILBERT, .......you are not only a Hero, but also a Humanitarian, a Warrior, a Lion, someone who has a Heart and cares for helping others.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.

AMP

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) was founded by UC Berkeley Professor Hatem Bazian as a vehicle to generate mainstream support in the United States for the Palestinian national cause.

On its website, the organization lists Bazian as the chairman of its national board and describes itself as “a national education and grassroots-based organization, dedicated to educating the American public about Palestine and its rich cultural, historical and religious heritage.”

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has accused AMP of promoting “extreme anti-Israel views and has at times provided a platform for anti-Semitism under the guise of educating Americans” about Palestinians. The ADL further stated that AMP is directly involved in campus-based anti-Israel activity through Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

Prior to founding the AMP in 2006, Dr. Bazian created SJP together with fellow UC Berkeley Professor Snehal Shingavi in 2001. The close working relationship between AMP and SJP has been documented several times over the years by several organizations, including NGO Monitor and StandWithUs

In addition to providing financial, public relations and legal assistance to SJP, AMP has also been accused of having connections to Hamas. The AMP national board includes former members of both the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP) and Holy Land Foundation (HLF), both of which were found liable for aiding and abetting Hamas. The IAP was founded by Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook, a senior member of Hamas.
