Monique Romero

Monique Romero was arrested in May 2024 during an anti-Israel sit-in at Hadley Hall on the New Mexico State University (NMSU) campus.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

On May 9, 2024, Monique Romero was reportedly arrested and charged with "criminal trespass and resisting or obstructing" at the sit-in, which took place in the wake of NMSU’s pro-Hamas encampment.

The encampment was part of a national movement on college campuses in 2024, during Israel’s war against Hamas. The encampments were also in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of July 2025, Monique Romero's LinkedIn profile said she was a part-time "Baker/Froster" at Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Also as of July 2025, Monique Romero's LinkedIn said she studied business at NMSU from 2020 to 2024.

As of the same date, Monique Romero's LinkedIn said she was located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. NMSU is also located in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
