Mohammed Alhaj
Mohammed Alhaj spread incitement and glorified Hamas while speaking at multiple pro-Hamas rallies in October 2023. The October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.
Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
As of February 2024, Alhaj was listed online as the owner of the Empire Insurance Group in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the owner of Royal Tri-State Catering and Wedding Planner; and the President of Royal Consultant & Trading Group.
As of March 2024, Alhaj posted to Facebook that he was a Property Specialist with Allstate insurance company.
As of the same date, Alhaj posted to Facebook that he attended Birzeit University (Birzeit) in Ramallah. Alhaj is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Alhaj led marchers in chants at an anti-Israel rally titled “Emergency Protest,” organized by the “Palestinian Community in Philadelphia.” He is seen dressed in a grey suit, white shirt, and black-and-white keffiyeh around his neck, speaking into a microphone next to anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Siyam.
Marchers shouted in Arabic [00:00:18]: “Be-ruh, be-dam, nifdik ya Aqsa [with spirit, with blood, all for you, Al-Aqsa]!”
The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.
The chant: “Be-ruh, be-dam, nifdik ya Aqsa بروح ودم نفديك يا اقصى [With spirit, with blood, we will redeem you, Aqsa]” can be heard [00:01:14] at anti-Israel rallies [00:02:19] in America. Yasser Arafat popularized the chant [00:00:23], which is invoked by anti-Israel protesters regarding a variety of causes.
Protesters at the rally chanted [00:00:05]: “1-2-3-4, occupation no more” and [00:00:12]: “5-6-7-8 Israel is a terrorist state!” and held signs that accused Israel of “apartheid” and read: “JERUSALEM THE ETERNAL CAPITAL OF PALESTINE."
One protester displayed a sign reading [00:00:20]: “Resistance To Colonialism Is A Duty Not A Crime Free All Palestine.”
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
An illuminated billboard said: “STOP GAZA GENOCIDE WITH U.S. TAX DOLLARS / HOSPITAL BOMBED TODAY 500 KILLED…”
On October 17, 2023, the terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) fired rockets at Israel from Gaza, one of which misfired and fell on the parking lot of the al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital. Initial media reports blamed Israel. Following the incident, U.S. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib immediately accused the Biden administration of funding Israel’s “genocide” of Palestinian people.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation.
Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, approximately 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.
A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.
For more information on the October 7, 2023 terror attacks, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.
Alhaj glorified Hamas terrorists at an anti-Israel rally at City Hall in Philadelphia titled: “All Out for Gaza.” The event was organized by the Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC). Alhaj is seen dressed in a grey suit and white shirt, with a black-and-white keffiyeh around his neck.
At the rally, Alhaj, was introduced in English and began speaking in Arabic at [00:28:24], saying [00:30:24]: “أفراد شوامخ نوارس لا يتجاوزون ألف شخص أسقطوا أسطورة الجيش الذي لا يهزم . هذا الجيش الذي كان يعد نفسه رابع اقوي دولة في العالم.” / [They are glorious ones, not exceeding a thousand people, brought down the myth of the unbeatable army…These heroes, the heroes of Gaza, proved that this is a defeated people; their army is defeated, and their leadership is defeated.”]
آيات العز والافتخار هذا المنبر” / [“This is not new to Gaza, and Gaza cultivates pride every year. Gaza was, is, and will remain a thorn in the throat of the aggressors. By God, by God, they have restored our morale. They have raised our morale from here, from the city of Philadelphia…”]
Alhaj said [00:33:45]: “رجال عزة! لقد اثبتم للعالم بأنكم أنتم الرقم الصعب من فوق الأرض ومن تحتها ومن لجج البحر وجوها من خلف الخطوط المغتصبات الصهيونية .خرج طوفان الأقصى يزلزل عرش بني صهيون وليثبت للعالم أننا نحن أصحاب الحق وليس هم .” / [“The men of Gaza! You have proven to the world that you are the “tough nut” above and below the earth, from the depths of the sea, and from behind the lines of Zionist settlements. The Al-Aqsa flood came out to shake the throne of the Children of Zion, and to prove to the world that we are the owners of the truth, not them.”]
Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, also known as Al-Aqsa Storm, is the name Hamas used for their terror operation on October 7, 2023. It is a reference to the allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, and has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before Israel was founded in 1948.
Alhaj concluded [00:34:12]: ”أخيرا نريد الترضية بعد الشعارات من أجل إخواننا الموجودين / [“Finally, I want to chant some slogans for the sake of our existing brothers…”]. “يا عبيدة يا مغوار
سمعهم صوت الإنذار” / [“O Ubaida [“O Commander…Make them [Israel and Jews] hear the sound of alarm.”] … “ Tوصهيوني ميت خوف.” / [“The Zionist is dead in fear.”] …”خلي أيدك ع الإزناد.” / [“ Keep your hand on the trigger of a rifle.”] / “خلي أيدك عالمرطير” / [“Keep your hand on the mortar.”]
Other speakers at this event included Anissa Weinraub, wearing a red-and-white keffiyah, who said [00:02:17] that “as human beings living on this one planet, [sic] we are compelled to dismantle Zionism.”
Another speaker, Noura Erakat, went on to urge [00:26:31]: “First, we impose a ceasefire and then we continue!” and announced [00:25:15]: We will not stop until we free Palestine!!”
Another speaker, Susan Abdulhawa, then said [00:41:15] “People who can make the media across the whole Western Hemisphere repeat lies of beheaded babies, without any verification, they are not the victims! They are the people with all the guns, the money, with the political cover…”
Denial of the Hamas war crimes of October 7, 2023, among anti-Israel activists has been likened to Holocaust denial among neo-Nazis.
Alhaj led marchers at a pro-Hamas rally titled: Emergency Protest for Gaza: NO GENOCIDE IN THE DARK! CEASEFIRE NOW!” held at City Hill in Philadelphia, organized by the Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC). Dressed in a blue suit jacket, light blue shirt and black pants, Alhaj is seen leading protestors marching with an anti-Israel banner.
On October 28, 2023, the Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC) held a rally at Philadelphia City Hall calling for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas terror group. Hamas committed multiple war crimes against Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023, including the murder of approximately 1,200 Israelis. Israel declared war immediately.
Speakers at the rally led chants supporting terrorism and calling for Israel’s destruction.
One speaker led [00:09:55] the pro-terror chant: “Free, free Palestine! Free, free Palestine! There is only one solution! Intifada, revolution! There is only one solution! Intifada, revolution!”
Speakers said [00:04:10] that beyond a ceasefire, they wanted “liberation,” meaning “ending the siege on Gaza, ending the occupation and decolonizing Palestine from the River to The Sea.” Rally-goers chanted [00:00:02], in Arabic: “From the River to The Sea, Palestine is Arab!” Both chants are a call for the destruction of Israel.
Alhaj participated in an anti-Israel rally held in Philadelphia, titled: “Shut it Down for Palestine: Xmas Is Cancelled. No Business as Usual in a Genocide.” The event was co-sponsored by the Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC) and BLMPhilly. Alhaj is seen wearing black pants, a black jacket, a white shirt, and a black-and-white keffiyeh around his neck.
Alhaj joined protesters in chanting [00:00:32]: “Hey, hey, ho, ho, the occupation has got to go!”
