Mais Zuaiter

Overview

Mais Zuaiter has expressed support for the terror group Hamas and spread hatred of Israel. Zuaiter also showed support for terrorists, spread hatred of Israel and supported the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement while in high school.

Zuaiter was the President of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the University of Oklahoma (OU), in 2016.

As of March 2020, Zuaiter’s LinkedIn page said she was an “Economic Researcher” in Jordan. Her LinkedIn page also said she graduated from OU in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Supporting Hamas

On July 12, 2014, during Operation Protective Edge (OPE), Zuaiter tweeted: “The countdown from #Hamas wasnt for nothing. 20 locally made rockets were launched towards #Tel_Aviv #Gaza #صامدون.[#Samidoun]”

Israel commenced OPE in July 2014 to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.

Also on July 12, 2014, Zuaiter tweeted: “#Israel is scared as crap. Hiding in their shelters already. 2 more minutes!”

Again on July 12, 2014, Zuaiter tweeted: “#Hamas rockets hit 2 settlements ‘madeem’ [Modi’in] and ‘beit shmeish’ [Beit Shemesh] from #Gaza to #Tel_Aviv.”

On July 13, 2014, Zuaiter tweeted: “@StanleyCohenLaw people keep talking about Hamas and Al Qassam brigades like they're the same thing. Hamas isn't the one launching rockets.”

Stanley Cohen is an anti-Israel activist and New York-based attorney who has represented leaders of Hamas in American court.

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades is the military wing of Hamas.

On July 14, 2014, Zuaiter tweeted: “Several report 100's of #IDF soldiers deployed in #Hebron in attempt to find 'suspect' Marwan Qawasmi. Palestine heading for a 3rd intifada?”

Marwan Qawasmi was a Hamas operative suspected of kidnapping three Israeli teenagers from a bus stop on June 12, 2014, together with Amer Abu Aisha. The abducted boys were murdered by their captors and their bodies were found buried in Palestinian-controlled territory on June 30, 2014.

On September 23, 2014, Qawasmi and Abu Aisha were killed in a shoot-out with Israeli troops during an arrest raid.

Since the early 2000s, the term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” has carried the connotation of violence.

On July 3, 2015, Zuaiter tweeted: “@KahoeC perhaps. But that's cause Hamas doesnt do anything on what Israel is doing. Its constantly oppressing and killing Palestinians.”

Spreading Hatred of Israel

On December 6, 2017, the date the U.S. government announced its decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Zuaiter shared a petition on Facebook titled: “Jerusalem must remain the capital of Palestine القدس يجب أن تبقى عاصمة فلسطين.”

“68 years: remembrance of Nakba. We are coming back.”]

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

On July 3, 2015, Zuaiter tweeted: “Couple churches, agreeing to boycott #Israel products, #US not backing Israel up like before, some pressure. I suspect a war on #Gaza soon.”

On August 3, 2014, Zuaiter, during OPE, Zuaiter tweeted: "More than 80 people in #Gaza ere [sic.] killed today by the #Israel genocide and ethnic cleansing continuing plans on #Palestine #GazaUnderAttack."

On July 31, 2014, Zuaiter tweeted: “#Bolivia rates #Israel as ‘Terror State’ Many latino countries retrieved their ambassadors & condemn the massacre #GazaUnderAttack #Gaza.”

On July 24, 2014, during OPE, Zuaiter tweeted: “#Israel continues to aim at
@UNRWA shelters in #Gaza proving that it is commiting [sic] massacres and a war criminal. #GazaUnderAttack #Palestine.”

The United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) has been accused of hiring militants and providing arms to Hamas terrorists. Hamas rockets have been found in UNRWA schools on numerous occasions.

During Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) against Hamas in 2014, the U.N. reported that its inspectors found rockets at U.N. schools in Gaza.

In July 2014, then-U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s office released a statement saying “those responsible are turning schools into potential military targets, and endangering the lives of innocent children.”

In April 2015, the U.N. released a report stating [p.15] that a “projectile” was launched from a U.N. school on July 14, 2014, concluding [p.15] it “was highly likely that an unidentified Palestinian armed group could have used the school premises to launch attacks.”

High School Support for Terrorists

On May 26, 2013, Zuaiter tweeted: “25th of July marks the freedom of South #Lebanon from #Israel thanks to #Hezbollah. It is sad to see the situation of Hezbollah nowadays…”

Hezbollah has long been known as an anti-Semitic and genocidal terror organization dedicated to destroying Israel.

On February 15, 2013, Zuaiter tweeted: “#SamerIssawi #PalHunger #Palestine #Justice #StopIsrael.”

Samer Issawi is a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) who received a 26-year prison sentence in 2002. During the second intifada, Issawi manufactured and distributed pipe bombs and fired indiscriminately on Israeli civilian vehicles. In December 2013, Issawi called for the kidnapping of Israelis, saying: “The [Palestinian] prisoners' release will be brought about by kidnapping and [prisoner] exchanges. Nothing will happen without that.”

On March 21, 2013Zuaiter tweeted: “The ninth anniversary of the martyrdom of Sheikh #AhmedYassin - We won't forget #Palestine #Israel #FreePalestine.”

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin has been described as the “mastermind of Palestinian terror” behind many suicide bombings against Israeli civilians on buses and in cafes during the second intifada. In January 2003, Yassin said in an interview: “Suicide attacks and jihad reinforce national unity in the ranks…Our voice is one of struggle, of jihad and of suicide…”

On February 11, 2013, Zuaiter tweeted: “Support from #Scotland #UK for #SamerIssawi #Palhunger #HumanRights #Palestine #Israel.”

Also on February 11, 2013, Zuaiter tweeted: “Today hits the 203rd day of #HungerStrike by #SamerIssawi #PalHunger demanding #Justice and showing #Palestine #Resistance against #Israel.”

On November 17, 2012, Zuaiter tweeted: “Proud of the work of the resistance in Gaza. Gaza shall not be taken down. Palestine will be free.”

High School Hatred of Israel

On May 15, 2013, Zuaiter posted on Facebook: “68 سنة: ذكرى النكبة عائدون
[68 years: remembrance of Nakba. We are coming back.] We will return. ”

On December 9, 2012, tweeted "Palestine is our land, from the sea to the river, from the north to the south and we cannot cede an inch of it or any part of it."

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.

On November 19, 2012, during Operation Pillar of Defense (OPD), Zuaiter tweeted: “israel is displacing Palestinians and committing ethnic cleansing! This is prohibited under international law and it must stop. #Gaza #غزة.”

Israel launched OPD to stop Hamas rocket attacks on Israeli civilians from Gaza. Over the course of eight days in November 2012, Palestinian terrorist groups fired more than 1,500 rockets at Israel. The majority struck Israel, damaging homes, schools and other civilian areas. Human Rights Watch noted: “Palestinian armed groups made clear in their statements that harming civilians was their aim.”

On November 17, 2012, Zuaiter tweeted: “@IDFSpokesperson Oops, there is a mistake on your map, its not israel its PALESTINE.”

High School Support for BDS

On May 8, 2013, Zuaiter tweeted: “http://guardian.co.uk/world/2013/may/08/stephen-hawking-israel-academic-boycott… ‘Stephen Hawking joins academic boycott of #Israel’ #BDS #Palestine #Physics #FreePalestine.”

On December 21, 2012, Zuaiter tweeted: “#SouthAfrica makes support for Israel boycott its official policy.”

On November 22, 2012, Zuaiter tweeted: “#Palestine we will return! Fight #Zionism #BoycottIsrael #ProtestForPalestine.”

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
