Lisa Savage
Lisa Savage was arrested multiple times while participating in anti-Israel protests in 2024. She has also expressed support for Hamas terrorism, denied Hamas war crimes and promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
Lisa Savage's anti-Israel activism and social media posts occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, called “Swords of Iron.” Israel launched the war after a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. The terror attacks left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.
Savage is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of February 2025, Savage's Instagram bio said she was a teacher, union negotiator, organizer, and author, as well as a 2020 political candidate.
As of the same date, Savage's X account said she was a blogger, with the tag: "Working to end the war against the poor, at home & abroad. Free Palestine!"
As of February 2025, Savage's LinkedIn profile said she had been working as an independent writing and editing professional.
Savage's Ballotpedia page said she ran as an independent for "election to the U.S. Senate to represent Maine" in 2020, having lost the general election.
Savage's Ballotpedia also said she had "received a graduate degree from the University of Southern Maine, Portland/Gorham, in May 1997" and that she had worked as a "teacher in Maine public schools for 25 years."
As of February 2025, Savage's LinkedIn said was located in Solon, Maine.
Lisa Savage was arrested in February 2024 and arrested again in July 2024 during her participation in anti-Israel protests.
On February 2, 2024, Channel 8 WMTW reported that Savage, along with 10 other anti-Israel protesters, was arrestedand charged "with obstructing a public way" at a busy intersection on a Friday afternoon in Portland, Maine. The group of pro-Palestinian protesters "called for the U.S. to support a ceasefire" in Israel's war against Hamas terrorists.
During an interview for Channel 8 WMTW, Savage said [video; 00:00:23]: "We are expressing our extreme distress that Gaza is being genocided [sic] in our lifetime right on cell phone videos, and our government is supporting it and sending the bombs and sending the airplanes."
On July 29, 2024, Yahoo News reported that Savage was arrested for criminal trespass during her participation in an anti-Israel protest outside Bath Iron Works (BIW), a shipyard company which is part of the General Dynamics Corporation, located in Bath, Maine.
The protestors included members of several groups including the Maine Voices for Palestinian Rights. This group's website states: "We are Mainers who stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and seek to amplify their movement of liberation from occupation and apartheid."
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation.
Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, approximately 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.
A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.

On February 5, 2025, Savage wrote an article for her Substack account titled: "Lucrative Real Estate Deals Built Over A Mountain Of Corpses Of Martyred Palestinians?"
In the article, Savage referred to Hamas as a "resistance" group.
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
On October 7, 2024, Savage reposted on X another user's post that shared a yellow sign that read: "GLORY TO THE MARTYRS / VICTORY TO THE RESISTANCE." The text was over a black composite image of Hamas terrorists breaking through the Gaza-Israeli border and terrorists' fists grabbing the barbed wire of the Israeli security fence.
The sign was displayed at an anti-Israel protest organized by the pro-terror group Within Our Lifetime (WOL).
On December 18, 2023, Savage posted on X a quote from another user's Substack account which read: "'Hamas 'mass rape' claim lacks evidence...Claims of systematic rape Oct 7 appeal to a racist trope of the savage, predatory Arab..."
On October 7, 2023, Hamas raped both women and men. Some were raped and murdered or mutilated. Hamas terrorists said they were given explicit orders to carry out those atrocities on both live victims and corpses.
On March 17, 2024, Savage posted on X: "What's really behind the TikTok ban? Zionism!..."
On October 7, 2024, Savage posted on X: "'Sympathy for Israel has been used over this past year to manufacture consent for the slaughter of mountains of human beings in advancement of land grabs & military agendas that were planned long before the seventh of October 2023.'..."
On October 18, 2024, Savage posted on X, referring to the anti-Israel news website Electonic Intifada: "The Anglo-Zio empire clearly understands how much we value Electronic @Intifada for their reporting & analysis.
The term "Zio" is a common derogatory reference to Zionists, as well as an often-used anti-Semitic slur among white supremacists.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
