Kevin Engel
Kevin Engel was arrested on criminal trespass charges in October 2023, following an anti-Israel protest at Dartmouth College (Dartmouth). He has spread hatred of Israel and America and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Engel's anti-Israel activism took place during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks.
Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds more that day. For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
As of June 2025, Engel was listed as the secretary of Sunrise Movement's Dartmouth chapter.
Sunrise Dartmouth has established the "Dartmouth New Deal," a policy proposal advocating for divestment from Israel. Proponents of this deal call themselves the "Dartmouth New Deal Coalition," and advocate for "student intifada."
Since the early 2000s, the term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” has carried the connotation of violence.
As of February 2025, Engel was listed as a student at Dartmouth, slated to graduate in 2027.
Dartmouth is located in Hanover, New Hampshire.
On October 28, 2023, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, Kevin Engel was arrested on criminal trespassing charges during an anti-Israel protest on the Dartmouth campus.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.

Dartmouth president Sian Leah Beilock said in an email statement, referring to Engel and another activist that was arrested, that “the situation changed when two students...threatened in writing to ‘escalate and take further action,’ including ‘physical action,’ if their demands were not met.”
Beilock's email also said that Dartmouth "attempted to negotiate with the student protestors for over six hours on Friday night before she and other College administrators asked Hanover Police Department for assistance" and that campus security must consider the threat of “physical action” as “a threat of violence.”
As of January 2025, Kevin Engel posted on Quora.com: "...the U.S. is directly funding the current iteration of genocide in Gaza, the occupation of Palestine, and the apartheid state of Israel, most directly through providing arms."
Engel's post also said: "...U.S. politicians, organizations, companies, colleges, institutions, and all other apparatuses...are complicit in the current genocide in Gaza."
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
