Roig’s activism occurred in the wake of Hamas atrocities against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. The attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

In February 2024, Roig was an activist with Philly Boricuas, a self-described “grassroots organization of Puerto Ricans organizing the diasporic community in Philadelphia.”
In early 2024 and late 2023, Roig was affiliated with the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at Temple University (Temple SJP).
Roig is a supporter [00:04:07] of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of March 2024, Roig’s LinkedIn profile said Roig was studying at Temple and was slated to graduate in 2026. As of the same date, Roig was listed as an author for Temple's student newspaper, The Temple News, where Roig was reportedly an assistant news editor in October 2022.

11/9/23 - Supporting Hamas War Crimes & Honoring a Terrorist
On November 9, 2023, about one month after Hamas murdered 1,200 Israeli Jews, Roig expressed [00:03:58] support for Hamas war crimes and honored [00:01:24] a terrorist at a Temple SJP walkout and rally on campus. At the rally, Roig said [00:00:33]: “I stand with Palestine because I oppose imperialism. I oppose settler colonialism. I oppose genocide, quite frankly.”
Roig continued [00:01:24]: “As Ghassan Kanafani of the PFLP said: ‘The Palestinian cause is not a cause for Palestinians only, but a cause for every revolutionary, a cause of the exploited and oppressed masses in our era’. And it rings just as true then, and it rings just as true now.”
Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.
Roig continued [00:02:21]: “Let us not forget that the genocide did not begin in 2023. It began in 1948. It began when they stole a nation.”
The modern State of Israel was founded in 1948.
Anti-Israel activists use the phrase “by any means necessary,” as one of multiple euphemisms for terrorist violence, including “resistance.”
Roig later said [00:05:12]: “The children of the oppressed people of the world stand with you, generation after generation, until total liberation. Free, free Palestine!…From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation. Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, over 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.
2/9/2024 - Promoting Violence at an Anti-Israel Rally
On February 9, 2024, Roig participated in a “Student Solidarity Walkout & Rally” hosted by Temple SJP at the Bell Tower on campus, where Roig held a sign that read: “FREE PALESTINE! END THE OCCUPATION. INTIFADA ‘TIL VICTORY!”The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
Temple SJP’s Instagram post promoting the event called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas: “We stand in full solidarity with Palestine and demand an end to the genocide and an immediate ceasefire.”
2/13/2024 - Calling for America’s Destruction
On February 13, 2024, Roig spread [00:01:56] hatred of America and promoted the BDS movement at a Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC) rally held at Philadelphia’s City Hall. Roig reportedly spoke as an activist for Philly Boricuas. At the rally, Roig addressed [00:01:56] the United States, saying: “It is imperative that we work from within the imperial core to disrupt it, to agitate and to organize against this criminal system and dismantle it from within.”
Roig continued [00:04:07]: “We must take a stand in every way we can. When called to the streets we must be in the streets, like right now. When called to boycott and divest, we must boycott and divest…When called to disrupt we must disrupt…”
2/17/2024 - Speaking at an Anti-Israel Rally
On February 17, 2024, Roig led a march and spoke at an anti-Israel rally titled: “Rally for Gaza in Kensington,” held in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia.Roig tweeted two days earlier that Roig had gone on a “flyering journey” in Philadelphia to promote the rally. Roig hung posters that featured a woman holding an automatic rifle and another woman dressed in a Palestinian keffiyeh holding a slingshot.
Celebrating Hamas Atrocities
On October 7, 2023, Roig tweeted: “F**KING HANG GLIDERS OMG.” Roig’s tweet included a tweet that featured a video of Hamas terrorists in motorized paragliders invading Israel’s border with Gaza.During the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attack on Israel, numerous terrorists breached the Israel-Gaza border in motorized paragliders “to infiltrate Israeli territory and secure terrain.” War reports included footage of the gliders descending on the Supernova Music Festival, where Hamas terrorists slaughtered over 360 unarmed young men and women. In the days following the Hamas atrocities, images of Hamas militants on paragliders were employed to glorify terrorism and serve as a symbol of Palestinian violent nationalism.
Also on October 7, 2023, Roig tweeted: “LFG [Let’s F**king Go].” Roig’s tweet included a tweet that featured a video of Hamas terrorists driving tractors into Israel’s border fence with Gaza, tearing it apart and shouting: “Allahu Akbar [God is great]!”
Spreading Hatred of Israel and America
On February 22, 2024, Roig tweeted: “The right of return for Palestinians and all displaced people is a non negotiable. The right to ones ancestral is a right that can not be taken away.”The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
On March 1, 2024, Roig tweeted: “May they burn in hell for their crimes.” Roig’s tweet included a tweet that said: “
Please pray for our soldiers [IDF] fighting hard in Khan Yunis to defend our homeland.”Roig retweeted a March 19, 2024 tweet that said: “From Puerto Rico: ‘Gaza, I love you. Israel + USA are genocidal terrorists.’

”SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
