Expressing Support for Terrorists
On July 20, 2014, Sultan tweeted: “#Hamas doesn't use human shields, but Israeli military does reports Amnesty during last operation in #Gaza http://bit.ly/1nFKMgo.”Throughout the summer of 2014 — during Operation Protective Edge (OPE) — Hamas's deployment of human shields was extensively documented and publicized. Hamas encouraged Gazans to act as human shields to frustrate Israeli efforts to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza.
On January 27, 2016, Sultan posed for a photo posted on Facebook by Temple SJP, holding a sign that said: “I am a student and I support Rasmea [Odeh].” Temple SJP’s post said: “We demand #Justice4Rasmea! #FreePalestine.”
Odeh was a key military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a PFLP supermarket bombing that killed two college students. She also attempted to bomb the British consulate in Jerusalem. Odeh later moved to the United States but was deported to Jordan in 2017 for immigration fraud.
On November 16, 2016, Sultan tweeted: “I have always wanted to learn Arabic just to read Ghada Al Samman's poetry and letters to Ghassan Kanafani.”
Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.
On May 16, 2018, Sultan tweeted: “Israelis' feelings about killing Palestinians gets the front page, but not the 52 lives lost.”
On May 16, 2018, a Hamas senior official, Salah al-Bardawil, stated that 50 out of 62 protesters killed during the May 14 Gaza border protest were Hamas operatives. Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) also claimed that three of its members were killed at the same protest.
Spreading Incitement
On November 5, 2014, Sultan tweeted: “Does Israel want to trigger a third intifada? Have they forgotten the time Sharon transgressed Al-Aqsa?” Her tweet linked to an article titled: “Israel to build temple in place of Al-Aqsa.”In the fall of 2014, Palestinian leaders and media incited a wave of violence against Israelis with the lie that Israel intended to desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. This resulted in the November 18, 2014 Har Nof massacre, in which terrorists murdered six people in a Jerusalem synagogue during morning prayers.
Demonizing Israel
On May 16, 2016, Sultan tweeted: “Naomi went to Israel and accepted an award from Shimon the bomber PeresShimon Peres was an Israeli politician who served as the ninth President of Israel, the Prime Minister of Israel and the Interim Prime Minister.
On October 16, 2015, Sultan tweeted: “@ToujoursDeva yea Zionist narrative of history = mythos, it's literally based in entitlement of biblical Israel.”

On March 25, 2014, during Operation Protective Edge (OPE), Sultan tweeted: “Rockets are everything, but forget the strangling, siege and bombing of Gaza. #UMDivest.”
Israel commenced OPE in July 2014 to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.
That same day, Sultan tweeted: “ If Israel isn’t segregating the country, how do you explain the separation wall? #UMDivest.”
Israel’s security barrier, 97 percent of which is a low chain-link barrier, was built as a deterrent to Palestinian terror attacks. The concrete portions of the fence were built in response to Palestinian sniper attacks.
Sultan also tweeted that day: “Zionists who know nothing about Partition need to keep it out of their Nakba-justifying genocide apologist mouths. #UMDivest.”

Supporting Anti-Israel Agitators
On December 1, 2018, Sultan tweeted: “I'm happy @TempleUniv is standing by Marc Lamont Hill, but I also think the university should acknowledge the erasure Palestinians and Muslim students on campus face instead of characterizing 'river to the sea' as a 'perceived threat'.”During the meeting, Hill reportedly whitewashed Palestinian violence and accused Israel of “state violence and ethnic cleansing.” He also called for a “free Palestine from the river to the sea.”
In September 2018, during a U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) conference, Hill insinuated [00:31:01] that Israel poisons Palestinian water and seemingly approved [00:30:34] of violence against Israelis.
On November 30, 2018, Sultan tweeted: “Bassem Masri gone & remembered at the age of 31 and Marc Lamont Hill fired from CNN for publicly stating the necessity of a one-state solution for Palestine all in the same week. The movement lives on
#FreePalestine.”On October 5, 2018, Sultan quoted Ahed Tamimi on Twitter: “‘Do I sometimes wish that I could just let go and not be strong? No. Under occupation, you must be. I have always challenged my fear and found the strength I needed.’ --Ahed Tamimi in the October issue of @VogueArabia.”
Sultan’s tweet included a link to a letter Tamimi wrote and was published in Vogue Arabia in October 2018.
SJP Activism
On June 7, 2018, Sultan tweeted that she wrote a statement in 2014 that saved Temple SJP from suspension, following SJP’s citywide protests during Operation Protective Edge (OPE).In October 2014, Sultan tweeted that she attended the 2014 National SJP Conference.
Sultan witnessed a violent incident that occurred at Temple SJP’s table on her first day as a student at Temple.
On August 20, 2014, a pro-Israel Temple student was assaulted at a Temple SJP table during a campus event held during Welcome Week. Local news reported the attack had been carried out by Aziz Jalil, a Temple graduate. Temple’s statement, issued following the attack, said the assault was “alleged to have included physical violence, anti-Semitic statements, and racial slurs.”
On August 24, 2014, Sultan tweeted about the event: “#ISupportTempleSJP because I was there and no member of SJP used vile, antisemitic slurs.”
Jalil subsequently turned himself into police and was charged with assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Temple SJP claimed that Jalil “was only a visitor to the SJP table” and that he had no formal affiliation with the group.
Supporting BDS
On August 19, 2018, Sultan tweeted to musician Lana Del Rey in response to her statement regarding her scheduled concert in Israel: “Nowhere in your statement Lana do you mention Palestine. You talk about travesties in Israel when travesties happened in occupied Gaza and West Bank. As someone who’s bought tix to see you in past you can at least have the decency of addressing the topic and taking responsibility.”Lana Del Rey canceled her scheduled concert in Israel due to pressures from BDS.
On January 22, 2018, Sultan promoted resources from the official BDS movement on Twitter.
On March 25, 2015, Temple SJP held an anti-Israel event on Temple’s campus. Activists referred [00:00:59] to Israel’s security barrier as an “apartheid wall.’’

Revolt, for you have nothing to lose but your chains.”
George Habash, was the 1970 mastermind behind the hijackings of four Western airliners over the United States, Europe, the Far East and the Persian Gulf. In 1972, the PFLP collaborated with Japanese Red Army terrorists to massacre 24 people at Israel's Lod International Airport (renamed Ben Gurion International Airport).

The PFLP claimed credit for the 2014 Har Nof Massacre where six people were murdered during morning prayers in a Jerusalem synagogue. The PFLP also claimed credit for the 2001 assassination of the Israeli tourism minister.
Khaled has compared Zionists to Nazis, said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough and advocated for the use of children in terror activities
On August 19, 2016, Temple SJP hosted a demonstration at the Israeli Consulate in Philadelphia calling for the release of Bilal Kayed.
Kayed was a PFLP terrorist who was incarcerated for 14 years for terror attacks and attempted terror attacks committed during the second intifada, in 2002.

The Facebook event page said: “We will protest the apartheid and colonialism of the Israeli state against the Palestinian people by setting up a mock wall on campus…”The “mock apartheid wall” is a display of multiple panels demonizing Israel's security barrier, which was built as a deterrent to Palestinian terror attacks and in response to Palestinian sniper attacks. SJP chapters often erect these displays during their annual Israel Apartheid Week (IAW) event.
On March 26, 2015, Temple SJP held an anti-Israel rally on the Temple campus where activists referred [00:00:59] to Israel’s security barrier as an “apartheid wall.’’ Temple SJP activist Iman Sultan spoke in the video where she encouraged [00:00:21] support for BDSand claimed that Israel practices “apartheid.”
During the event, Brandon-Hai Do, then-vice president of Temple SJP, led [00:00:20] anti-Israel chants. Temple SJP - Violent Incident at an SJP Event (2014)
On August 20, 2014, a pro-Israel Temple student was assaulted at a Temple SJP table during Temple Fest, an “involvement fair” on campus. The attack was reportedly perpetrated by Temple alumnus Aziz Jalil, who allegedly struck the student in the face, as the student was called “Zionist,” "Kike,"“Racist,” "Baby Killer" and other anti-Semitic names and slurs.
Jalil subsequently turned himself in to police and was charged with assault and recklessly endangering another person.
On August 20, 2014, Temple issued a statement, following the attack which said the assault was “alleged to have included physical violence, anti-Semitic statements, and racial slurs.”
On September 3, 2014, Temple SJP claimed that Jalil “was only a visitor to the SJP table” and that he had no formal affiliation with the group. However, other reports and a November 2012 picture posted on the Temple SJP Twitter account contradict this claim.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
MSA
The MSA was established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."
The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.
The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
CAIR
CAIR describes itself as a “grassroots civil rights and advocacy group” and “America's largest Muslim civil liberties organization, with regional offices nationwide.” Its official mission is “enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.”
CAIR reportedly has “significant ties” to the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as Hamas. A number of former CAIR employees have been convicted on fraud and terrorism-related charges that resulted monetary fines, jail terms and, sometimes, deportation.
CAIR was founded in 1994 and opened its first office in Washington, DC, with the help of a $5,000 donation from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a charity founded by Mousa Abu Marzook.
Marzook, who was listed as a "Specially Designated Terrorist" by the U.S. Treasury Department in 1995, is reportedly a senior member of Hamas.
In May 2007, CAIR was listed as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in a U.S.-filed action against the HLF for providing funds to Hamas.
CAIR was also listed as a terrorist entity by the United Arab Emirates, in 2014.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
