Hannah Towfiek spread hatred of America, expressed support for Hamas terrorism, called for Israel's destruction, and promoted antisemitism.
Towfiek celebrated Hamas with the
symbol during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas.
As of January 2026, Towfiek's LinkedIn said she was the director of social services at the Muslim American Society (MAS). She is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of January 2026, Towfiek was listed as a member of the transition team for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, serving on the Youth & Education Committee.
Mamdani has called for dismantling capitalism and promoted hatred of the police. He has also justified Hamas terrorism and glorified terror supporters. On his first day as mayor, he revoked executive orders designed to combat antisemitism, including increased police protection at synagogues, and nullified a ban on city officials to boycott Israel.
Also as of January 2026, Towfiek's LinkedIn said she worked as a long-term substitute teacher at NYC Public Schools. She also worked as the chief operations officer of Salam Community Development.
As of the same date, Towfiek's LinkedIn said she was studying for a master's degree in social work at New York University (NYU), slated to graduate in May 2026. Her LinkedIn also said she was located in Brooklyn, New York.
