Calling for Israel’s Destruction
On May 10, 2021, Salameh posted to Facebook: “In these holy last ten days of ramadan, i genuinely pray that the terrorist state of israel falls forever…I pray the oppressors in the state of israel burn, if not in this life, i pray in the deepest pit of hell, the true, everlasting state of israel. Amen.”Spreading Anti-Semitism
On May 17, 2021, Salameh posted to Facebook: “How about America changes it's name already, to the 'United States of Israel,' since Israel gets most of our money, anyway, why not most of our land, too?...”Glorifying Terrorists
On September 15, 2021, Salameh posted to Facebook a picture of Palestinian terrorist Zakaria Al-Zubeidi with a caption that read: “His crime: resisting an illegal occupation and escaping from an Israeli concentration camp. Will the world dare to act?Intifada!!! #FreePalestine #ZakariaZubeidi.”Zakaria Zubeidi was the former Jenin commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, which is listed as a foreign terror organization (FTO) by the U.S. government. Zubeidi was involved in several terror attacks on Israeli civilians. On September 6, 2021, Zubeidi was one of six prisoners who escaped from Israel’s Gilboa prison. They were all recaptured by September 19, 2021.
Since the early 2000s, the term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” has carried the connotation of violence.
On December 8, 2014, Salameh posted: “Yay!! Rasmea Odeh, Palestinian-American activist is to be released (until sentencing..hmmm...)after being convicted on false confessions while being tortured.”
Odeh was a key military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a PFLP supermarket bombing that killed two college students. She also attempted to bomb the British consulate in Jerusalem. Odeh later moved to the United States but was deported to Jordan in 2017 for immigration fraud.
Whitewashing Hamas
On May 22, 2021, Salameh posted to Facebook: “...Hamas is not a terrorist group, it is a liberation group, created as a result of the Israeli occupation to defend Palestinians from mass genocide and ethnic cleansing. Don't let the discourse change from Israel is the bad guy to Hamas is the bad guy- Hamas is not the problem here…”On May 16, 2021, Salameh posted to Facebook: “Of course i support hamas- the only armed resistance fighting israel back from mass genocide is hamas! I will support the way hamas fights, whichever way it can, because THAT'S self-defense…”
Demonizing Israel
On May 18, 2021, Salameh updated her Facebook cover photo with a graphic that read: “...Israel is illegally occupying Palestine…End an occupation. Start with that.”
Salameh commented on the graphic, accusing Israel of “genocide, ethnic cleansing of a [Palestinian] people by a settler colonial aparheid.”
On May 15, 2018, Salameh tweeted: “Today marks 70 years of Israel's terrorist occupation of Palestine. Let us note that Israel celebrates its 'independence' the same way it was gained: by conducting and celebrating massacres on the Palestinian people. #NeverForget #Nakba70 #FreePalestine.”
The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.
Endorsing Anti-Israel Agitators
On July 29, 2018, Salameh posted to Facebook: “Today I am so happy and relieved that Ahed Tamimi and her mother Narimene [Nariman] were finally released from Israeli prisons-- they are true heroes…#FreePalestine.”Anti-Israel Activism
On November 30, 2017, Salameh reportedly spoke at an event titled: “Home Sweet Homeland: Examining Culture, Law, and Stories about Palestine.” She featured in a panel called: “Occupied Culture: Food and Film from Palestine.”On November 21, 2014, Salameh posted to Facebook: “...I encourage everyone at Pitt to go and speak out against the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] soldier, to show the inhumanity of the military that regulary assasinates Palestinians and opresses them…”
Salameh’s tweet was in reference to a lecture by an Israeli service member at Pitt scheduled for November 24, 2014.
On July 11, 2014, Salameh reportedly organized a rally protesting U.S. military aid to Israel. At the rally, Salameh was quoted as saying: “Americans need to start boycotting Israel. The only way Palestinians will be free from Israeli apartheid, from the way I see it, is to apply economic, cultural, and international pressure onto Israel by shunning its products that profit by the occupation.”
Protestors at the rally chanted: “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!”
Salameh also reportedly suggested “a number of ways to aid Gazans, such as donating…Islamic Relief USA.”
Islamic Relief, also known as Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW), has been declared illegal by Israel for funneling donations to the terror group Hamas. In 2019, Germany found “extensive ties” between IRW and the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). In 2020, IRW’s CEO Tayeb Abdoun resigned after he was exposed as having promoted the “Knife Intifada,” five years earlier.
Supporting BDS
On November 24, 2014, Salameh was quoted in an article published in Pitt News as saying: “Our job is to tell students about BDS...”
On August 5, 2014, Salameh posted to Facebook: “Download the app ‘Buycott’ to be able to scan barcodes to see which items fund to Israeli illegal settlement expansion, human rights abuses, and other causes. It also lets you know which brands help the Palestinian cause…”
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
