Ayat Oraby

Ayat Oraby [Aiat Oraby] expressed support for Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023. Oraby has also denied Hamas war crimes, spread antisemitism, and promoted hatred of Israel and Israelis. She is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

On July 27, 2017, a written testimony to the U.S. Congress, titled: "Combating Homegrown Terrorism," said that Oraby was part of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Egyptian Americans For Freedom And Justice (EAFJ). The group lobbied on Capitol Hill to oppose the designation of the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. The testimony also stated that Oraby said she finds the killing of Egyptian soldiers by terrorists "'funny.'"

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) is a transnational Islamist organization founded in Egypt in 1928. It was designated as a terrorist organization by Egypt (2013), Saudi Arabia (2014), the United Arab Emirates (2014) and Bahrain (2017). Among its offshoots is Hamas, a terrorist group dedicated to Israel’s destruction.
