Ziyadeh also spread anti-Semitism, expressed a violent hatred of Israel and demonized Zionists during her high school years.
Defending Terrorism
On May 10, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “This. I am so tired of the mischaracterization of Palestinian resistance. Palestinians reserve the right to resist and defend themselves as necessary. 99% of the time, the only ‘violence’ that seeps from the Palestinian population is in the essence of defense and resistance.”On May 26, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Palestinians at home (i.e Westbank, Jerusalem, etc.) are getting arrested, beaten, & killed for peacefully protesting and resisting their occupation + displacement. So the next time you want to criticize Palestinian resistance movements for *RIGHTFULLY* fighting back, think again.”
Supporting Terrorists
Ziyadeh retweeted an October 28, 2021 tweet from AJP Action that said: “#StandWithThe6 by emailing @ABlinken, @POTUS and your congress member and tell them to pick a side here: http://bit.ly/CongressPalHR”In October 2021, Israel listed six Palestinian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as terror organizations, on the grounds that they were each “an arm” of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestinian (PFLP). The NGOs funneled donor aid to militants and employed PFLP leaders, “including activists involved in terror activity.”
Ziyadeh retweeted a September 15, 2021 tweet that said: “On Friday, 1380 Palestinian political prisoners will be going on hunger strike to protest the brutal & collective punishment they have been facing since six of them escaped Gilboa prison over a week ago.”
On September 6, 2021, six Palestinian prisoners escaped from the maximum-security Gilboa Prison in Israel. The escaped prisoners were convicted members of the terror organizations Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, who were jailed for their involvement in attacks carried out during the second intifada. All were recaptured by September 19, 2021, by Israeli authorities.
Ziyadeh retweeted a March 30, 2021 tweet in support of PFLP member Majd Barbar.
Majd Barbar was sentenced to “20 years in jail on charges of affiliation” with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and for “his role in armed resistance” in 2001. Barbar reportedly formed “an armed resistance group” in Jerusalem, during the Second Intifada.
Ziyadeh retweeted a March 2, 2021 tweet that said: “An Israeli military court has sentenced Palestinian politician Khalida Jarrar to two years in prison. Jarrar is a prominent Palestinian feminist and lawmaker who has long struggled against Israeli apartheid.”
Khalida Jarrar is a senior member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror organization. She has reportedly been the head of the PFLP in the West Bank since 2016. In 2015, an Israeli military court sentenced Jarrar to 15 months in prison for calling to kidnap Israeli soldiers. Israel arrested Jarrar again in 2017 “on suspicion of involvement with terrorist activities and violent public disturbances.” In 2019, she was arrested by Israel with 50 other PFLP operatives following a deadly 2018 bombing attack.
On June 24, 2020, Ziyadeh posted to Facebook: “Another innocent Palestinian man was murdered by the Israeli ‘Defense’ Force yesterday. Ahmed Erakat was made out to be some kind of terrorist, a false narrative that is so commonly placed on the Palestinian people in an attempt to distract the world from the goals and tactics of Zionism.”
Ahmad Erekat [Ahmad Moustafa Erekat; Ahmed Erakat] was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated and rammed his car into soldiers at a checkpoint. One female soldier was injured. The incident was captured on video.
Promoting Incitement
On August 11, 2019, Ziyadeh posted to Facebook an article titled: “Israeli forces attack Palestinian worshipers in Al-Aqsa.” Ziyadeh wrote: “This is a common reality for the Palestinian people. Never allowed to enjoy their Ramadan or their eid, let alone a normal day, without being attacked by Israeli forces.”On August 11, 2019, Palestinian rioters gathered at the gates of the Al Aqsa compound after rumors circulated that police would allow Jewish visitors to the Temple Mount. Rioters threw stones and chairs at police and Jewish visitors.
On May 8, 2021, Ziyadeh made her Facebook profile image a photo of herself with the text: “#SaveSheikhJarrah.”
In May 2021, Palestinian violence erupted in anticipation of an Israel High Court ruling on eviction proceedings concerning over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
On May 9, 2021, Ziyadeh’s tweeted: “#SaveSheikhJarrah #handsoffalaqsa Isr*el is the only state to receive unexplainable amounts of military funds ($3.8 billion, annually) from the U.S. with absolutely no conditions for human rights. This funding is utilized oppress and ethnically cleanse the Palestinian people.”
Ziyadeh retweeted a May 10, 2021 tweet in Arabic that supported rioting in Israeli cities with large Arab populations like Haifa, Nazareth and Umm al-Fahm. The tweet translated into English, said: “Mercy for the souls of the martyrs, freedom for the detainees, and much love for this country. #Palestine_Intifada.”
Since the early 2000s, the term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” has carried the connotation of violence.
On May 14, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted a link to a Google document titled: “Call to Action for Palestine” that urged people to use the hashtags “#savesheikhjarrah” and “#handsoffAlAqsa” on social media.
Demonizing Israeli Jews
Ziyadeh retweeted a May 30, 2021 tweet that said: “I’m seeing tweets that refer only to Israeli settlers in the West Bank as settlers. All Israeli Jews are settlers—in Yaffa, Lydd, the Jalil, the triangle & Naqab—just like all those in Australia who are not Indigenous are settlers. Decolonization demand reckoning with this fact.”One way that anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is to claim [00:06:46] that Israeli Jews, particularly Ashkenazi Jews, do not descend from the ancient Israelites.
This claim alleges that Israeli Jews are white Europeans who lack a connection to the Land of Israel. The Khazar myth is a common version of this claim which is used to delegitimize [00:02:16] the existence of the modern State of Israel.
Demonizing Israel
On September 1, 2021, Ziyadeh wrote an article in Yellow Scene Magazine where she claimed that Israel is carrying out “the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.”On July 31, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Let’s talk about what ways your tax dollars are contributing to ethnic cleansing other than direct US government aide to isr*el.”
On June 3, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “You cannot use your oppression as an excuse to oppress another population of people. You cannot demand rights & land at the expense of an entire indigenous population. You can lie to yourself all you want, but Zionist ideology is racist, colonial, and driven by apartheid, period.”
Ziyadeh’s tweet was in response to a video by an Israeli Ethiopian activist who expressed her support for Zionism.
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.
On June 1, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted a photo of a woman at an anti-Israel rally holding a sign that had a flag of Israel crossed out. The same sign also said: “FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA PALESTINE WILL BE FREE.”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.
On the same day, Ziyadeh tweeted: “hi, in case you forgot, Palestinians are still being illegally occupied and ethnically cleansed.”
On May 21, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “The IOF (isr*eli occupation force) has gone back into Jerusalem, attacking innocent civilians with tear gas and stunt grenades and yet WE, Palestinians, are called the aggressors. Do not stop taking about this, do not stop raising hell. Liberate Palestine.”
On May 21, 2021, clashes erupted outside of the Al-Aqsa compound after Palestinian worshippers threw rocks and petrol bombs at Israeli officers. Thousands of worshippers had gathered at the compound in solidarity with Gaza, following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
“IOF” stands for Israeli Occupation Forces, a derogatory name used by anti-Israel activists to demonize Israel’s army in place of its official name, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
On May 10, 2021, during OGW, tweeted: “I don’t want to hear anyone refer to this as a ‘conflict’. It’s not two-sided. It has always, and will always be, one sided and intentional. So refer to it as it is: Apartheid. Ethnic cleansing. Settler colonialism. State-sanctioned violence. Racist-violence against Palestinians.”
On May 6, 2021, Ziyadeh posted to Facebook: “What happened in 1948 during the Nakba never ended. For decades, Palestinians have been facing ongoing colonization, ethnic cleansing, and violent racism.”
The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.
Ziyadeh retweeted a January 29, 2021 tweet that said: “Zionism isn't merely incompatible with Black and Indigenous liberation; it's an active force of counterrevolution.”
On June 14, 2020, Ziyadeh tweeted: “I wish more non-Palestinians talked about how we’re being ethnically cleansed and how isra*l publicly announces their annexation plans like it’s nothing.”
In spring 2020, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel would annex certain areas of the West Bank. The plan was postponed in August 2020.
On May 15, 2019, Ziyadeh wrote on Instagram, in a post about the Nakba, that Israel has been carrying out a “genocide” for 71 years.
On May 4, 2019, Ziyadeh tweeted: “This is how Israel says Ramadan Mubarak to the Palestinians, every single year.” Her tweet featured another tweet showing photos of the aftermath of retaliatory Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.
Supporting an Anti-Israel Agitator
On March 7, 2019, Ziyadeh posted on Facebook in support of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, writing: “I am heartbroken at the backlash she has received and infuriated at the way the Democratic party has handled it. The Israeli lobby DOES exist and DOES have an impact on American politics.”On March 1, 2019, Omar suggested at a public event that supporters of Israel were disloyal to America. She said [00:00:42]: “I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country.”
AMP Activism
As of January 2022, Ziyadeh’s Linktree page gave a link to an AJP Action petition to “demand Biden stop normalizing relationships with Isr*el until our rights are addressed.”Supporters of the anti-normalization policy refuse to recognize Israel and seek to police all interactions between Israelis and Palestinians. This policy was originally dictated by the BDS National Committee (BNC).
On November 26, 2021, Ziyadeh featured [01:28:20] in a Facebook video speaking at AMP’s 14th Annual Convention for Palestine in the U.S. During the video, she said [01:26:57] that she organized AMP’s Palestine Advocacy Day in September 2021.
AMP’s annual Palestine Advocacy Day (PAD) has been held in Washington, D.C., since 2015. Activists, including multiple former SJP leaders, are trained by AMP officials and also promote the BDS movement in meetings with Members of Congress, their staff and other government officials.
During the same speech, Ziyadeh claimed [01:23:25] that the “Israeli State” is a “colonial regime.” She also told [01:28:18] the audience that “we have the right to stop our tax dollars from funding ethnic cleansing and genocide of our people.”
On September 22, 2021, Ziyadeh featured in an AJP Action “Special Live” Facebook video. The session was titled: “Ending Blank Checks to Israel” and featured AMP Executive Director Osama Abuirshaid and AMP’s Managing Director Josh Ruebner.
During the video, Ziyadeh promoted [00:17:05] AMP’s 7th annual “virtual” PAD, which was organized by AJP Action. She told [00:17:45] viewers that participants would have meetings set with “congress members… to stop being complicit in Israeli apartheid.”
On September 27, 2021, Ziyadeh featured as a speaker for AMP’s 7th annual virtual PAD “Advocacy Training Session.” The event also featured [00:03:59] anti-Israel activist Hanan Ashrawi, a senior Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) official.
On August 3, 2021, Ziyadeh co-moderated an AMP webinar alongside fellow AMP activist Tarek Khalil. The webinar was titled: “Complicity with Ethnic Cleansing: How U.S. Charities Fund Israeli Settlements.”
On July 28, 2021, Ziyadeh shared a tweet from AMP that read: “Join us in using the power of social media to demand your representative support H.R. 2590 and ending U.S. military funding to Israel.”
Ziyadeh wrote: “The fight against ethnic cleansing is far from over. Join #JerusalemActionMonth this august and urge your congress members to stop funding ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.Start tomorrow by joining a social media storm and #MakeNoiseForJerusalem.”
On July 1, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Pausing my Twitter hiatus to announce my on boarding with@AMPalestineas their national advocacy director. I’m SO excited to elevate my advocacy skills by working with, educating & leading grassroots orgs & elected officials to promote & establish Palestinian human rights
.”On August 25, 2021, Ziyadeh shared an AJP Action tweet that included a link to a petition and wrote: “@POTUS & Isr*els new prime minister are meeting in DC. @naftalibennett is no different than his predecessor and has carried on isr*els systemic colonial regime. Sign our petition ASAP to demand Biden stop normalizing relationships with isr*el until our rights are addressed.”
Anti-Israel Activism
On May 18, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Share this call to action. Carry out all 4 actions requested. DM folks to do the same. Denver, CO rally details coming for Saturday iA. If you care about basic human rights, are against ethnic cleansing and settler colonialism - call your congress members and urge them to speak up about what’s being done to Palestinians in #SheikhJarrah and urge them to place conditions on US military aid to isr*el.”
In the same thread, Ziyadeh tweeted: “I have an email drafted if anyone would like it. Additionally, I'm more than happy to help you find out who your Representative/Senator is if you don't already know.”
Supporting BDS
On October 6, 2021, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Giving all my money to Nike! Another success displaying that BDS works.”On September 1, 2021, Yellow Scene Magazine published an article authored by Ziyadeh where she claimed that BDS is a “peaceful form of resistance.”
On August 26, 2021, Ziyadeh featured on a Mondoweiss podcast with Abuirshaid, during which she said [00:25:07]: “I think its very, it's great, you know that the BDS movement has been around for a very long time.”
High School Anti-Semitism
On July 10, 2014, during Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) against Hamas, Ziyadeh tweeted: “ … Allah yel3an el yahood. [May Allah curse the Jews].”Israel commenced OPE in July 2014 to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.
Also on July 10, 2014, Ziyadeh tweeted: “... (Jews) aredropping bombs on Gaza and murdering innocent civilians,” in response to a tweet that said: “Someone explain to me what's going on in Palestine ?”
On the same day, Ziyadeh tweeted against what she called “the Jews that are in Israel supporting the genocide on Palestine.” She was responding to a tweet that said: “Not all jews are zionists.”
On July 12, 2014, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Do guys realize that there's basically a holocaust happening in Palestine? I mean if that doesnt make it any clearer, I dont know what will.”
High School Violent Hatred of Israel

If i ever saw one my adrenaline would probably cause me to kill him.”On August 2, 2014, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Would it be haram [prohibited] if I killed an Israeli soldier? Because with the anger built inside me I could probably do it
"High School Demonizing Zionists
On August 15, 2014, Ziyadeh tweeted: “Falasteen bladna, Zionists klabna, w America klab Israel bsara7a. [Palestine is our country, Zionists are our dogs and America is definitely Israel's dog].”On November 3, 2014, Ziyadeh tweeted: “That was up until a group in Europe aka Zionists, wlad kalb [children of dogs], decided to colonize OUR land.”
AMP
American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) was founded by UC Berkeley Professor Hatem Bazian as a vehicle to generate mainstream support in the United States for the Palestinian national cause.
On its website, the organization lists Bazian as the chairman of its national board and describes itself as “a national education and grassroots-based organization, dedicated to educating the American public about Palestine and its rich cultural, historical and religious heritage.”
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has accused AMP of promoting “extreme anti-Israel views and has at times provided a platform for anti-Semitism under the guise of educating Americans” about Palestinians. The ADL further stated that AMP is directly involved in campus-based anti-Israel activity through Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).
Prior to founding the AMP in 2006, Dr. Bazian created SJP together with fellow UC Berkeley Professor Snehal Shingavi in 2001. The close working relationship between AMP and SJP has been documented several times over the years by several organizations, including NGO Monitor and StandWithUs.
In addition to providing financial, public relations and legal assistance to SJP, AMP has also been accused of having connections to Hamas. The AMP national board includes former members of both the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP) and Holy Land Foundation (HLF), both of which were found liable for aiding and abetting Hamas. The IAP was founded by Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook, a senior member of Hamas.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
