Autumn Byars

Autumn Byars [Autumn Augustina Byars] was arrested at a pro-Hamas encampment at Arizona State University (ASU) during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks.

On April 27, 2024, Autumn Byars was arrested for third-degree criminal trespass at the ASU encampment.

The encampment was part of a national movement on college campuses during Israel’s war against Hamas. The encampments were also in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

On April 30, 2024, Autumn Byars was listed as one of the 20 plaintiffs in a lawsuit against ASU. The plaintiffs were suspended by the school following their arrest at the unlawful pro-Hamas encampment. They were also “not permitted back on ASU campus grounds” and were “prohibited from communicating with any ASU faculty or staff.”

As of March 2025, Autumn Byars' LinkedIn profile said she worked as a hunger advocacy fellow at the Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of Arizona (LAMA). However, in September 2023, Byars was listed as "the ELCA [Evangelical Lutheran Church in America] Hunger Advocacy Fellow for 2023-24."

In September 2023, Byars reported that she earned a BFA from ASU. ASU is located in Tempe, Arizona.

As of March 2025, Autumn Byars' LinkedIn said she was located in Tempe.
