NYC-DSA is an anti-American and anti-Israel activist group. It celebrated the Hamas terror attacks of October 7, 2023, by holding a rally the next day.

The event Adeel Ahmed participated in was to canvass for NYC-DSA member and mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

As of October 2025, Adeel Ahmed's LinkedIn profile said he had worked as a New York worksite organizer at the Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU Healthcare in New York, New York, since July 2023. His LinkedIn said he was located in the New York City metropolitan area.
