Achmat Akkad

Achmat Akkad [Anthony Akkad] was arrested at an anti-Israel protest held by the pro-terror group Within Our Lifetime (WOL) in 2024, according to the New York Times. Akkat has expressed support for Hamas terrorism, spread antisemitism, and promoted hatred of Israel and America online.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

As of July 2025, Akkad's LinkedIn said he worked as a "Mental Health First Aid Trainer" at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOH). In September 2024, his X bio said he was in Manhattan, NY.

Also as of July 2025, Akkad used the X handle "@BlackIntifada."

The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.

In May 2024, Akkad was reportedly a graduate student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (John Jay), part of the City College of New York (CUNY).

In 2015, Akkad was also reportedly arrested at a "#NYC2Baltimore" protest while wearing a shirt that said: "PALESTINE."
