Report on University of California, Davis (June 2018)

Canary Mission investigated anti-Semitic and anti-Israel activity on the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) campus, in July 2018. Individuals involved came from the UC Davis chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Muslim Student Association (MSA) Of particular concern was a former MSA Board Member and 2018 graduate, Mahmoud Hassane. Hassane is openly aligned with the terrorist organization Hamas. He has publicly worn the group’s apparel on multiple occasions and in 2015 posted on Facebook, “I’ve been saying I support Hamas for years.” Muneeza Rizvi. When a Hamas technology expert,Fadi Al Batsh, was killed in April 2018, she tweeted about it calling him a “martyr.” Both Hassane and Rizvi are supporters of theBoycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement and were also involved in various anti-Israel incidents. |

The students spread a wide variety of Israel-hatred and support for terrorism on social media. SJP UC Davis also spread the same sort of hatred through their Facebook page.

Mahmoud Hassane has repeatedly declared his support for Hamas. He also called for “intifada,” while leading the disruption of a speech by an Israeli diplomat at UC Davis, in 2016.. Hassane was an MSA board member in 2015-2016, where he served as Outreach Director. On February 3, 2015, Hassane declared on Facebook: “I've been saying I support Hamas for years, I wear Hamas's headbands in public nearly everyday, my profile pic was me with a huge Hamas insignia on my backpack and after all that I get nothing but compliments and likes, I swear this is not fair.” As of June 2018, Hassane indicated on Facebook that he graduated UC Davis. Adnan Perwez has chanted for intifada and demonized Israel while disrupting a speech by an Israeli diplomat at UC Davis. He has also expressed support for terrorists as an with SJP. Perwez was the MSA president and >served as the secretaryofMSA West’s board of directors, in 2017. On September 21, 2015, Perwez posted on Facebook that he began studying at UC Davis in 2015, majoring in History and Political Science. As of June 2018, his LinkedIn page indicated that he was scheduled to graduate in 2019. For more info click here. |

| Noor Adilla Jamaludin has chanted for intifada while disrupting the speech of an Israeli diplomat at UC Davis. She was a member of SJP and served as an ASUCD student senator. As of June 2018, Jamaludin was amember of the MSA at UC Davis closed Facebook group and a member of the MSA Sisterhood group on Facebook. On January 1, 2014, Jamaludinposted on Facebook that she began studying at UC Davis in 2014 and that she in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning. As of June 2018, her Facebook profile picture showed Jamaludin wearing a graduation gown and holding a cap. For more info click here. |

Muneeza Rizvi is an anti-Israel activist who has promoted violence, expressed support for a terrorist and defended Hamas’s “March of Return.” She also participated in an anti-Israel rally organized by SJP UC Davis. indicated on Facebook and in the UC Davis student newspaper that she has been refused entry into Israel. As of March 15, 2018, Rizvi was a graduate student in the Department of Anthropology at UC Davis, where she was a teaching assistant in Spring 2017 and an associate instructor in Fall 2017. Jessica Sanchez has spread hatred of pro-Israel students on social media and helped lead an anti-Israel rally organized by SJP UC Davis. On March 14, 2018, Sanchez tweeted: “I already told my Hermano that i would be down to fight a whyt grl b4 i graduate... SO DO NOT F*KN TRY ME AGGIES 4 ISRAEL BASURA [trash] CUZ IMA F*K U UP.” A February 7, 2015 Facebook photo indicated that Sanchez was a student at UC Davis. In 2016, she was a member of UC Davis’ La Raza Pre-Law Student Association. On June 19, 2018, Sanchez tweeted that she had graduated from UC Davis. For more info click here. |

| Hasna El-Nounou is an anti-Israel activist who spoke at a protest held at SJP’s apartheid wall as part of Palestine Awareness Week. She has indicated on Facebook that she “went” to events held by SJP. El-Nounou is an MSA board member and serves as the group’s Outreach Coordinator. As of March 2018, the UC Davis student directory listed El-Nounou as a sophomore at UC Davis, where she is reportedly majoring in Community and Regional Development. For more info click here. |

Muaz Aznan has demonized Israel andparticipated in an anti-Israel rally organized by SJP UC Davis. Aznan is a member of the MSA at UC Davis closed Facebook group as well as the MSA “Brotherhood of Davis” Facebook group and has promoted MSA events at UC Davis. On June 9, 2014, Aznan was asked on Ask.fm “If you could have dinner with any political figure, dead or alive, who would you pick?” He answered: “hitler” As of March 2018, the UC Davis student directory listed Aznan as a student at UC Davis majoring in Microbiology. | Russell Thomas is an anti-Israel activist who demonized a pro-Israel student and participated in an anti-Israel rally organized by SJP UC Davis. On February 23, 2018, Thomas posted to Facebook: “The student body at UC Davis just chose to elect a Zionist, white supremacist, queer and trans antagonistic President for ASCUD. What are we going to do about it?” As of April 2018, the UC Davis student directory listed Thomas as an American Studies major. The UC Davis student newspaper reported he was pursuing a double major in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies and American Studies. His Linkedin indicates that he is scheduled to graduate in 2019. Efren Diaz has demonized Israel support for an anti-Israel agitator and spread hatred of pro-Israel students at UC Davis. He also participated in an anti-Israel rally.
Diaz’s Facebook indicated that he was a student at UC Davis, majoring in Chicana/o Studies and Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies, scheduled to graduate in 2019. His Linkedin also listed him as scheduled to graduate in 2019 but indicated that he was majoring in Community & Regional Development. For more info click here. |

Madison Deluca has participated in an anti-Israel rally organized by SJP UC Davis. As of June 2018, Deluca’s Instagram indicated that she graduated from UC Davis.However, the UC Davis directory listed her as a student employee of the Associated Students of the University of California, Davis (ASUCD) department. Khadeja Ibrahim has expressed support for terrorists as an activist with SJP UC Davis. Ibrahim was added to the MSA at UC Davis closed Facebook group, under her Arabic name, خديجة ابراهيم, in April 2015. As of March 2018, Ibrahim’s LinkedIn page said she interned at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Sacramento in 2015. As of June 2018, Ibrahim’s LinkedIn page said she studied Political Science and Middle Eastern/South Asian Studies at UC Davis, from 2014-2018. For more info click here. |

Rami Abdallah Rashmawi was an with SJP UC Davis. He has participated in anti-Israel events and showed support for violent protests. As of June 2018, Rashmawi’s LinkedIn Page indicated that he was a graduating senior at UC Davis, majoring in Cognitive Science. He was also a legal assistant at Wagner Kirkman Blaine Klomparens & Youmens LLP in Mather, CA. As of the same date, Rashmawi’s Instagram indicated that he planned to attend Washington and Lee University School of Law in Virginia. For more info click here |

| Mohammad Abdel Jabbar has spread hatred of Israel on campus and on social media. He is an activist with SJP UC Davis. As of May 2018, Abdel Jabbar was a member of the MSA at UC Davis closed Facebook group. On December 19, 2017, Abdel Jabbar posted on Facebook a photo of the Dome of The Rock with a frame that said: “Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine” As of May 2018, his LinkedIn said that he studied at San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC) from 2014 to 2017. A Facebook post indicated that as of April 5, 2018 Abdel Jabbar was a third year transfer student at UC Davis. As of June 2018, the UC Davis student directory listed him as a Senior, majoring in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. For more info click here. |

Hind Eliyan was an activist with SJP UC Davis. As of May 2018, Eliyan was a member of the MSA at UC Davis closed Facebook group and a member of the MSA Sisterhood Facebook group. As of May 2018, Eliyan’s Facebook said that she “studied” at UC Davis and was living in Amman Jordan. As of June 2018, the Epsilon Alpha Sigma Sorority Empowered Arab Sisterhood at UC Davis listed her as a member of the ETA Class, Class of 2018. However as of June 2018, the UC Davis directory still listed her as a student in the Department of Global Affairs. For more info click here. |

Yasmin Torabi has promoted an anti-Israel agitator and is affiliated with SJP UC Davis. As of May 2018, Torabi was the MSA external vice president and a member of the MSA at UC Davis closed Facebook group as well as of the MSA Sisterhood Facebook group. As of May 2018, she is a student at UC Davis and is listed in the UC Davis directory as part of the Department of Education. For more info click here. |
