Rochelle Davis [Rochelle A. Davis] signed an open letter in April 2024 that spread hatred of Israel and promoted activism in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. The letter claimed Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists was a “genocidal campaign.”

The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas.

The April 2024 letter Rochelle Davis signed was in support of the anti-Israel and pro-BDS encampment at George Washington University (GW) in Washington, D.C., where students and outside activists reportedly called for Israel’s destruction. Local media said 33 protesters were arrested, at least six of whom were GW students. Seven GW students were suspended.

Nearly 200 anti-Israel college encampments were set up in North America in spring 2024. Activists harassed Jews with antisemitic slurs, expressed their support [00:02:45] for Hamas terrorism and called [00:04:45] for Israel's destruction. They blocked Jews from campus facilities and limited access to those with special wristbands or who said they weren't a Zionist.

At the time of the signing of the open letter, Rochelle Davis was listed as an associate professor of anthropology at Georgetown University (GU), which is located in Washington, D.C.

As of May 2026, Rochelle Davis was listed as holding the Sultanate of Oman Chair at GU's Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS). She was also listed as the director of SFS's Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS).
