Judy Rebick

Judy Rebick spoke at a pro-Hamas UofT encampment in May 2024. Rebick has spread anti-Semitism and expressed support for Hamas terrorists online. She also promoted hatred of Israel as a speaker at an anti-Israel rally in April 2024.

On May 27, 2024, Rebick was featured [slide 5] as a speaker at an anti-Israel rally at the encampment, protesting against a deadline set by UofT for students to leave the encampment or face trespassing charges.

At the rally, Rebick said [00:00:16] that after she visited Israel in 1970: “...I could not relate to the society, it was racist, it was militarist, and I broke from Zionism on that day in 1970, and I’ve been organizing against Zionism more or less ever since…”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 other countries have adopted the definition as well.

UofT is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
